bluechipper Provisional Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I like that the Twins are taking a long look at Polanco at SS, even when Eduardo Escobar is playing. I think he can be acceptable there, although his whiff at that sharp grounder last night was a little discouraging to that thought.
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I don't totally disagree on Polanco, and regardless of the lack of MiLB innings there, it's worth the look during this lost season. That said, I don't see him as the answer, nor am I sure what it is. Vielma is the only prospect I have heard whose glove is deemed exceptional, and that is just hearsay. All I know is I see some of the young elite SS around MLB, and wonder why we can't have shiny things!

Polanco can hit, but doesn't have a position, Sano can't field, Buxton apparently can't hit, and Berrios can't throw strikes all of a sudden. Kepler is the only one who looks like a complete player right now. All a part of the process I guess.
Kwak Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Mercifully, Duffey will be spared from starting in Toronto.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 This is random, but I just read that Santiago has been scratched for Friday's game in Toronto. Pat Dean will start instead.

Pat Dean will start instead. He has a "bruised thumb". I'm sure it has nothing to do with sparing him the embarrassment of carrying his current delivery on to the field against a bunch of power hitting right handed hitters.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Grossman is hitting in the 2 hole.......because?.......Molitor?

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 YesThought so, only reason I could think of.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Thought so, only reason I could think of.Well, to be fair, I don't know for sure, I just don't like Molitir so I present my opinions as fact.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Grossman is hitting in the 2 hole.......because?.......Molitor?The lineup order looks a little crazy to me. I don't like Plouffe in the 4 hole either...Oh well. Too bad Vargas isn't around. I would like to see him at 1st base versus Plouffe. I'm sorry. Maybe I should start a Plouffe Forum Thread. My apologies again.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Wrong guy playing first base tonight.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Paul Molitor's Patented Lineup Generator © Pretty sure he used this today with Grossman 2, Plouffe 4, Escobar 6 and Kepler 7. Either that or the bingo ball machine.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I don't mean to pile on but why Dozier in the #1 hole? He has 29 homers!! Move him back and put some more speed up top...Amazing. Molly knows more than I do though...I'm just a small business owner trying to get by.

twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Can you imagine what these Game Threads would be like for a World Series run? Brings me goose bumps!

Brings me goose bumps!I would either do one of two things, post incessantly to distract from my overwhelming anxiety at watching the game, or, become paralyzed by said anxiety and become completely incoherent on a keyboard. But it would be off the hook.

Agreed. 87 and 91 almost made me sick. Note to Moderators for World Series games: Warning points should be turned off.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Three K's for Gordon so far tonight. Still 1-0 Miracle at the end of 6
