"If" we lose  this game

we will be on pace to lose 99

(who put this machine in reverse again?)

Someone said we'd really have to tank to hit 100.

That did not ease my worried mind.

I slipped on some old rock stairs and fell down them. Sprained both my left knee and ankle. The stairs weren't wet; I was wearing high heels and dressed in my concert attire. Definitely not a fun moment, but sprains are so weird, and being older it took a while (2 months) before I was back on the tennis court. And then I wore a knee brace for about 4-6 months after that.

That was in Vienna wasn't it?

Top of the 9th at the Miracle game. Cards have two on with two outs. It's a nail biter. Miracle still up 1-0 b

BOOM! Duffey strikes again! It's like he's auditioning to pitch at the All Star Game--HR Derby.

Well it's unlikely Van was wearing his high heels. Last time he wore them for golf, the greens keeper was very upset! :)

My daughter's new 5th grade teacher told her class (full of 10 and 11 year olds), she doesn't want them turning in CRAPPY work.

Good. About time these kids got a little motivation.

Sounds like that person shouldnt be a teacher of young, impressionable minds.

I'd prefer a professional NOT choose to say it like that in a classroom to a bunch of kids that aren't her's.

thank you.  and it's not like she made a good impression Monday night when I met her either.

I should also probably add that I'm going back through my pictures from last year due to a hard drive crash, followed by the backup recovery and necessary reorganization. I'm in Prague right now, shortly to be followed by Budapest, after which we'll get to Vienna. I have central Europe on my mind right now.

Haha, i was only kidding.

But in all seriousness, you can't say "wrong" or "incorrect" in my little niece's class. Only "try again".

There's the other end of the spectrum

I figured you were kidding and yeah, the other end of the spectrum is as bad as giving participation awards and not keeping score in a game so as to not hurt feelings.

I find it funny how excited our announcers get when our guys made mostly routine plays.  The bar is so low across the board.

I've been out of high school for a little over ten years. The other day the newspaper ran a story about the pre season high school football conditioning schedule. Let's just saw its a tad bit different from what I experienced. Not that it was like boot camp when I played, but when you cut the preseason workouts in half and replace it with "heat acclimation week", it makes me chuckle.

My high school football August workouts consisted of making everyone sick. Run, vomit,, run. It made no sense then and it makes no sense now. We should have been playing football, not conditioning senselessly. (I must add that I was particularly lazy and easily exhausted).

God, I would love to hear jack Morris's unfiltered opinion about the twins. I imagine there would be tons of cursing and tobacco spit flying everywhere.

Well, after a two month break, apparently the Twins have resumed being one of the worst teams in baseball.

They were winning when their offense was masking the poor pitching. And that just isn't a long term solution.
