My high school football August workouts consisted of making everyone sick. Run, vomit,, run. It made no sense then and it makes no sense now. We should have been playing football, not conditioning senselessly. (I must add that I was particularly lazy and easily exhausted).

Haha yes, some loser coaches seem to have gotten off on that kind of stuff, but from my understanding, you aren't even allowed to wear full equipment or have physical contact for that week. As a 150 pound nothing in high school, I certainly dreaded the hitting aspect, but it didn't kill me!

When my baseball coaches got mad at the team for something, they would have four of us at a time run around the bases until someone caught someone. Starting point being each one on a base.  They made sure to match the students closest in speed and if one player slacked off so he would get caught sooner, we all did it over again.

Good times.

The running for punishment thing never really worked. But neither did the whistle to the helmet.

Is that you, Phil Cuzzi?

Cuzzi made a conscious decision to make that call.  No one could have made that call on accident, much less a MLB umpire.

This has to be top 3 biggest blown calls in postseason history. Not that it would have mattered, but it's inexcusable this was a missed call

Sadistic fun.

not only did it bounce off the glove while the glove was in fair territory, it got deflected and STILL landed obviously fair.

Cuzzi was born and raised as a Yankees fan, BTW.

If we hasn't loaded the bases and still managed to avoid scoring, the call would stand out even more.

How about if Sano could just play good for a week?

Hitless in his last 23 PA and has only one walk in that time frame.  That's his previous 6 games and then this game.

Shaggy should be going for the IS (Imaginary Save) to build his pretend closer resume.

Edit. Runner on third almost turned into a BIS.

Rosario's BProp third most comparable offensive player just moved into second after four more less-than-Boggsian at bats by Eddie tonight...

Congrats to Dozier, though. Crossing counting stat thresholds probably nets a little more attention than it should, but 30 homers by a second baseman is pretty cool even in a lost season for the team.
