Pro-tip: sprinkle the occasional "amirite, fellas?" into your next Battle Of The Sexes essay. I'm sure ChiTown will shake your hand next time you see her. / shake your hand, until it comes off

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Acme Bullpen is a perfect description for the pen earlier this year. Things have changed some though.Definitely better than earlier this year. I think we're just wearing the guys that have taken over [especially Tonkin] and would like to see a call-up of a new bunch of RP's. This is the time of year to do it.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I remember that you were the first practitioner of the small type. I remember when you started many years ago. Back then... I was young enough to read it. Now I have aged to the point that I can't. I guess I can get that AARP card now. I can't remember anymore what I just typed five minutes ago. And I can't read this one either. So, can't help you there.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Now is the time to approach him about an extension. Just take Phil Hughes contract and change the name. Yeah, but he's younger than Nolasco, so he can keep nolascoing leads for the Twins for years to come.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 You've just tried to stretch a single into a triple.FIFY. It'll still go down as a hit in the box score, right?

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Astros commentators are implying that was a great outfield play.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 True Story I just said to myself Polanco is gonna come up big and Plouffe won't make it. And then it happened True Story

big dog Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Plouffe showing off his wheels. Gene Glynn must have forgotten something while he was on the DL.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Let's definitely send the guy who's been home on the couch watching Cupcake Wars all summer... Thank god I'm not listening to the radio. Not sure I can handle Gladden explaining away one more case of bad base running with another ode to "aggressiveness".
big dog Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I liked playing the Astros more with GoGo in center.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I really don't like this Posey protect the Catcher rule. We got a Sano and Vargas now.

Jham Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 On the plus side, it's been several months since I've heard Bremer reference the fact that Tonkin is Jason Kubel's bro in-law.
akmanak Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I am going to say this again, you need to fire the base coaches or whoever has taught these guys about running the bases. The Ploof play was not as bad as the others I have seen but I havent seen this ****ty of base running in a long time and firmly believe this has to do with the coaches and less to do with the players.

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Double Play. good timing....
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 True Story Long time ago... I drove my nephew and his friend to a tryout camp. There were 5 scouts at this thing... each with a different team... Braves... Angels... Reds... can't remember the other two. About 50 kids showed up. First thing they did was a 40 yard dash... lined them all up and blew the whistle and off they all went. They took the first 10 kids in the dash... And they sent the rest home. 40 stunned kids... grabbing their stuff and going home After that they brought the 10 to RF and they had them throw to 3B with radar on them. They sent home 6 of them... The last 4 got to hit True Story I was just thinking that Plouffe would have bent sent home with the first group of 40.

big dog Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 You know what- on this night of Jeckyl and Hyde, Heckel and Jeckyl, and Sylvester the Puddy-Tat, I'd like to win this game. I say we turn it around, rignt now. I mean, right after Altuve knocks in the 6th run. Right now!
