We are bashing the ball now and my only debbie downer moment is if this continues we may not be sellers by the trade deadline.

That shouldn't be a concern. Ryan has said they're sellers.

Can't find the article on MLB.com, only saw it on the At Bat app.

It's batting practice!

What a great game to go to the Break on.  Everyone's going to be champing at the bit to come back and play on Friday.

I tune away for a few minutes, and WOW!

How is good ol' Joe Shlabotnik doing this season, anyway?

Well, a couple of thoughts--as a group the Twins are taking much better at-bats. Secondly, Texas right now isn't close to what they were for the first eighty games. They have a nice lineup, but their staff is a total mess. Finally, things even up over the course of a season and guys who were in Rochester don't seem to want to go back.

Per Baseball Reference:

Shlabotnik was demoted to the minors after having a .004 batting average over an entire season; his one hit was a bloop single with his team comfortably ahead. His greatest achievements included making spectacular plays on routine fly balls and throwing out a runner who had fallen down between first and second.

After being sent down to the Green Grass League (a bush league), Shlabotnik retired as a player and agreed to manage the Waffletown Syrups. Sadly, he was fired after only one game, after calling for a squeeze play ... with no one on base.

For as much as Smalley can get on my nerves, his point about Vargas is spot on, IMO.

Learn to lay off pitches you can't handle, and swing like you mean it at pitches you can.  As often as you can.

Vargas:  1 HR and 3 BB on the day!

The Rangers now look stunned.  We did not even need that insurance run.

It's comments like these that are jinx-worthy.

That said, the Texas announcers just said, 'This is like a bad dream.'
