h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I could not disagree more. Do not change the rule. For 100 years, if you're off the base and get tagged, you're out. The only thing that's changed is how far off the bag you have to be, and whether the umpire has to see it in real time. They got the call right. He was out. Replay worked EXACTLY like it should.Totally agree. We now have the tools to get it right. Before it was just guessing.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 With the All-Star break starting this seems like a good time to let the bullpen get in some work.Indeed. It's almost like a Septober game with an inexhaustible supply of substitutes.
Bill Brown69 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Pitch count at 79, should be good so send Tommy out again! I think it was fairly obvious that Tommy was lucky to get out of the 5th and I can't believe that everyone who has any say didn't see that also SO I hope that was "pitch for your job" move by sending Milone out for the 6th!
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 An insurance run would be helpful here.
Bill Brown69 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 OK Max, make a mark here!'!!!!!!!
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 With Vargas bearing down on him, Odor couldn't see 1st to make a throw
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I could be squinting too hard, but it kinda looks like Rosario is putting together, ever so slightly more competitive at-bats lately.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Ok, Rosario, get all the BS outta the way and hit a homer!
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I could be squinting too hard, but it kinda looks like Rosario is putting together, ever so slightly more competitive at-bats lately. He seems to be getting more selective and laying off more pitches outside the zone.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I didn't think it was possible but the Rangers pitching staff makes the Twins pitchers look good.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I didn't think it was possible but the Rangers pitching staff makes the Twins pitchers look good.Don't know if that's true, but the Rangers pitching staff makes the Twins hitters look good, for sure.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 QUICK!!! Get 'Zuke signed to an extension before he becomes too expensive!! //ducks//
spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Who are these guys and what did they do with they guys wearing these unis during April and May?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I think that the Twins would like to play in Texas as long as possible today.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 This is the kind of lumber we were expecting to see back in March. Glad it's finally showed up.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Suzuki now hitting .296 http://worldartsme.com/images/happy-dance-clipart-1.jpg
big dog Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 QUICK!!! Get 'Zuke signed to an extension before he becomes too expensive!! //ducks//I think the team should take the money it would have spent on Zuke and use it to buy the company making the axe bats. Then they can keep all the bats and not let any other team use them.
King Provisional Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 He seems to be getting more selective and laying off more pitches outside the zone. Here are his plate discipline stats since he has come up from his most recent stint in AAA (not including today):http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=12155&position=OF&type=8&gds=2016-07-03&gde=2016-07-09&season= He's making an absurd amount of contact on pitches outside of the zone (83%, league average is 63%).Compare that to the league averages, http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=5&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0,ss&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Of course, it's too small of a sample to make anything of it yet. Should be interesting to see how it plays out though.
akmanak Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 This team is such a head scratcher. We have owned one of the best teams in the AL. We are bashing the ball now and my only debbie downer moment is if this continues we may not be sellers by the trade deadline.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 damn, this has turned into a good, old fashion ass-whooping
