Bremer starting in with the "Mauer's not getting the calls he used to" stuff again.

I doubt Richard has read that the called strike zone has expanded each year over the past 5, 6 years. The pitches many players were used to being called balls are now called strikes.  

 

Anyone see the highlights of the Angels game yesterday?  Umpire was calling balls barely above the shoes strikes.

Yes. And we should also probably blame the coaching staff that the players apparently don't listen to at all. Or the coaching staff that isn't trying to fix these issues at all. Either way.

They're mad at Ramirez for showboating. They're mad at Donaldson for not running out a grounder. Now they're made at Donaldson for spitting in their general direction. And Hughes is so terrible he can't even properly hit someone.

 

This kind of crap has to come from the "leaders" - Molitor, Zuke, Dozier ... get rid of them all. Their "fire" is a joke.

Are you privy to information the rest of us aren't? The replays they showed today didn't indicate any yelling at the Twins bench. Looked more like he spit in their general direction.

Honestly, when you're getting paid millions of dollars to essentially throw batting practice, I don't think you have any right to be upset that players are able to embarrass you. I think it'd be much more fitting if Hughes came to the plate and we all had a chance to plunk him. I'd bet some of us could actually manage to hit him on two pitches too!

I'm OK with them getting mad. Both Ramirez and Donaldson think the world revolves around them because they are good at baseball, and it is OK for players to deal with what happens on the field on the field.

Throwing 2 mph? He has as much of a right to hit whoever he wants as you do to say that.
