That's quite the critique of Sano's defense that you have Buxton listed as RF as well.

2/3 of the OF is covered by Byron Buxton, the rest is covered by Eddie Rosario.

I think that's how that goes

Tetherball game thread comments:

"Wow, the USAF Chief really got smacked in the head with that one"

"The damn thing is on a rope and goes in circles, how did he not see it??"

I laugh at today's tetherball head smacks.

Back in my day, we couldn't afford no fancy schmancy fake leather tetherballs.  We used rocks.   And we LIKED it!  Now THAT forced you to learn to keep your head up reeeaaaalll quick, friends.  Real quick.

For the 6th time in 7 years, MLB starts the Twins on the road.

Funny... Detroit never has had a problem getting opening day games at home, and their average high temperature, in early April, is 2 degrees COLDER than Minneapolis.

yeah but it's snowing a bit right now!

Looks like the rain may start about 30 min in or so. Not too heavy, but they may stop it.

yah you'd think if they were postponing, they would have done it by now, instead of waiting to get everyone to the park and then telling them to go home?

Maybe the game will end sometime around 10 tonight so I can catch the end :)

If you can dodge a rock you can dodge a ball

ftfy...

But yeah, the version i grew up with was a foam ball roughly tennisball sized in a netting. Didn't hurt so much, but took better eye/hand coordination than the more common version.

Damn - I missed the original post about predicting the first  a home run - so as I read some of the later posts, I thought the game had started and at first thought they were actual home runs.

Reading comprehension is not always my strong suit -- although that might not matter for game threads and might even be a blessing not to fully understand all of the posts.

I believe that the Twins request to start the season on the road.  The try to push the home opener back as far as possible hoping for warmer weather.  Of course it really is moot as MLB tries to get every teams home opener completed within the first 7-10 days of the season anyway.

that depends ... define 'win.'

I think "win" is subjective. For some, it may mean that the Twins are credited with a win at the end of the game. For others, it may mean that the team is in full and good health at the end of the game. For others, it may mean that Ricky Nolasco got lost on the way to the ballpark.

Me? I consider it a win when there are at least 3 Circus Boy updates in one game thread.
