Ah, that's a shame for Duffey. Got too much of the middle with that heater. Man, did that guy hit that ball hard. Sano-hard. Took off like a jet from an aircraft carrier.

A buddy of mine asked if I was upset that the twins would probably not make the playoffs given the poor expectations coming in. My answer is an emphatic yes. Too many missed chances since the all star break. The young guys are actually the ones who have produced the most. It's the veterans and their lack of production that has been the downfall, to be honest.

Dozier has zero hits this series and three on the road trip. Pelfrey last night. Perkins with all of his struggles. The various bullpen meltdowns. Rosario, hicks, sano, Duffey, Gibson have pulled their weight IMO. The vets have let us down.

Shameful to put up an offensive performance like this against a struggling pitcher with your season on the line. I saw this coming from a mile away. I just figured it would be in the 8th or 9th.

What a shame.

Yep, beating guys like Kluber and Carrasco and putting up a dud like this against Bauer is pretty disappointing. But, such is the story of this team really.

The score is obviously different but this game reminds me of Game 163 against Chicago. Twins offense doing nothing, mediocre pitcher throwing up a great game, and then Boom. One big HR turns the tide of the game and the season.

It makes sense. The vets are the guys that have been around "contributing" to the past four seasons of misery.
