VandyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I remember the first series buxton was up and he was asked to bunt. He said after the game it was the first time he'd been asked to bunt since signing. Might explain his awkwardness.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Tampa Bay needs pitcher's fielding practice -- but not until the Twins leave.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Oh boy, just so glad that isn't my team. Now make 'em pay!
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I sometimes really hate when the bunt works out, but I guess I'll take it this time
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 The Baseball Gods are playing with us for their own amusement.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It worked out, but I HATE bunting in both of those situations.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Looks like the ball is buntsing our way? Anyway, i can't argue with the results. Now can we show Tampa bay what you're supposed to do with the bases loaded?
Gibby Provisional Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 The look on Dozier's face was classic. It looked like he wanted to go catch it.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 These next couple of plate appearances will win or lose this game.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Oh, my-- we're back to using our secret weapon- unlucky D from the other team! Let's go, boys, don't waste this now.... Heh-- Rays announcers had called a DP on that pitch!
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'm normally against bunting, unless you're the FlashTom Gordon was never known for his bunting.
Jham Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 MLB Channel is carrying Verlander's no no by the way.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 For all that hair, Archer isn't great at fielding his position. That's Loney's ball all the way, isn't it? Got greedy hoping to double off a lazy baserunner, got burned.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 MLB Channel is carrying Verlander's no no by the way. What, and miss all this bunting?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 That's Loney's ball all the way, isn't it? Got greedy hoping to double off a lazy baserunner, got burned. Absolutely it's Loney's. Maybe he should have taken this game off like he was mandated to instead of appealing it.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Really knocked the snot out of that one, Joe. But thanks! Oh, this is one of those innings that just rend your very heart. It's almost embarrassing to be on the 'right' side of this. But I'll take it, all day long!!!!!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 That will work! Seems like the twins are starting to get some of those "bounces" they were getting in May.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Twins will need to win games in any fashion if they plan on making the postseason. Find a way.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Wow, Buck-- the anti-Punto. Thank you so much for not sliding and breaking a digit, there, young man. What speed..... I was never even that fast in my dreams! My least favorite thing about Punto was his 'fake hustle' baserunning. On a popup he would run hard until the out was recorded, with total disregard for where he'd have ended up on a misplay. What friggin' good does it do to get thrown out at second on the off chance that a fielder does muff a routine play?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 CBU. No CBUs yet. Er, i mean 3-2 Twins, top of 7th, no outs, bases loaded for Sano.
Jham Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 What, and miss all this bunting? Yeah, i'm just hoping they'll show Kate Upton's response if Verlander can finish this thing off. I'm thinking she does a lot of leaping for joy.

mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It worked out, but I HATE bunting in both of those situations. I'm all for Buxton bunting as much as possible because he turns sacrifices into hits
