Chris Archer is a tremendous pitcher, but he's gotten help here and there from the umpire.  Where is pitchtrax tonight?   Called third on Mauer looked outside.

Gameday classic shows it was right on the black, for whatever it's worth.

Heh-heh, did you see that curve on Rivera? Duffey threw it at his elbow. Rivera moved his elbow away from the trajectory of the ball, just as it hooked left for a strike. Beautious.

For what it's worth:

 

"In 2010, my rookie year (in pro ball) I played rightfield and then in 2011 they moved me back to centerfield (at Class A Bowling Green) so I was really pumped. And I said I'm going to do whatever I can to stick in centerfield because that's where I want to play. So I really started making some nice diving catches and I had like 21 outfield assists that year. Someone came up to me and said, 'Hey man, you play the outfield like an … outlaw.' I said, 'Wow, that has a nice little ring to it.' So I was like, 'Hey, you can call me that if you want.' So from there, it kind of is self-proclaimed."

Duffey is losing his posture, stooping a little. It's making his fastball flatten out.

 

Meanwhile, Rosario catches that ball if he's playing LF. Eddie's faster than Robinson.

In 20/20 fan hindsight it was too close to take in any case, but maybe I'm not giving the home plate guy enough credit tonight.

Plouffe must improof.

My daughter is still at that 'learning to read by sounding out' age.    She liked her mispronunciation of Plouffe's name so much that she made up a rhyme for it:  "HIs name is Pluffy, and everyone boos him 'cause he can't hit enoughy".

Berrios has 12 K's through 7 now. Still sitting on 3 H, 1 BB, 0 R. If gameday can be trusted for AAA, it seems like he's using the top of the zone a lot.

 

Can he time travel to Tampa immediately?
