Toronto took the lead over the Rangers in the ninth. The Twins are on the verge of being only half a game out of the WC.

Along with the Angels ... man, all these teams we are playing in upcoming series that we need to win. My nerves may not make it through!

Concur, but better that than the win going to a TB bullpen flunky!

Our bullpen didn't flunk the Baltimore tests. May not have aced this one, but i'm not entirely disappointed. (Of course i'm notoriously easy to please. A shiny sparkly W!)

 

The Twins did get the lead going forward whilst Graham was on the mound so as vultured wins go, it seems almost standard. Just earlier in the game than usual.

 

Not sure i had a real point, so thanks for the company, and g'night!

Thanks SSOO. I had forgotten that Graham finished the third and that Dozier untied the game for good after that. I guess Graham had to be the winning pitcher. That's his first win. Congratulations to him.

BTW... I didn't mean to single out anybody in the intro. 

 

However Vodka fit the theme so Dave went under the bus. 

 

He's tough... The Bus won't slow him down. 

Sigh, here is the deal, nobody is happier than me that the Twins have played well lately.

1. I have been banned for the last week. Otherwise I would have been here celebrating with the rest of you. Also, Vodka is nasty, the only time I drink it is when it is in a bloody mary/bloody Caesar, I am a bourbon/rye fan myself, and not crappy whiskey, good whiskey, in fact I am in the middle of purchasing a whole set up to make a little bit. (Scotch is ok as well, it is definitely an acquired taste that I am trying to get into more and more)

 

2. I eat, sleep, breathe, bleed Twins just as much as any of you here.

 

3. I was one of the most optimistic people on this board overall the past few years (and at BYTO to be honest). Especially when it came to Ryan and Gardy.

 

4. I have been in Vegas and Canada the past 7 days, and the Twins are a big reason why I have managed to win $1500 or so the past week due to bets on them and various parlays, 5 wins in a row as an underdog (several times as a very heavy dog is awesome!) Nothing like quadruple dipping (Work Trip= Salary+Expenses+Hotel/Airline/CC points+Gambling wins!)

 

5. I win $15,000 off of $135 worth of bets if they win the world series and $5,000 if they make the world series. So no, the Twins being on a winning streak does not make me "unhappy"

 

6. I have been to Twins playoff games every year they have made it since 1991. Even though I haven't lived within 500 miles of Minneapolis at any point in my life. If they make it again this year, I will be there again as well. My fandom shouldn't be questioned. Period.

Also: Twinsnorth/GCTF, the Canadian dollar being weak is a bummer for you guys, but damn if it isn't a nice change of pace for coming north of the border for us Yanks!

Yeah, you guys can pilfer Canada on an almost 2 for 1 basis on everything these days, nice. Was in the TC's earlier this month and when I got my Visa bill I thought someone must have stolen my card and had a party.

 

I'm heading back for the Angels series and I'm getting murdered on the exchange, stupid Stephen Harper! Better be lots of free drink tickets at the crawl to make up for my Canadian Pesos.

Notes on yesterday's game.

 

1, 2 & 3. Don't make a mistake with an unbelievably patient Sano. He will kill you.

4. Buxton is just barely, nearly, almost starting look like a ML hitter. But he's done this at every level.

5. Suzuki really cannot throw to 2B. Why doesn't everyone run on him every pitch?

6. I hope & pray that our minor leagues develop a few relievers quickly.

7. Oh, yeah, Sano. Don't know what else to say, just wanted his name here again.

8. Buxton + Sano 5-0!

9. How anxious are we to see the Duff's curve ball tonight?

You're in god's country up there. Beautiful during the summer! My dad and I would take an annual summer fishing trip to Eagle's Nest Resort for some of the best walleye, pike, and bass fishing I've ever experienced!

Yeah, Manitoba takes a lot of shots but it really has some of the best lake fishing you'll find anywhere, especially even further North around Thompson, The Pas, Flin Flon. Some real diehard places up there, very remote and virtually untouched .

 

Eagle's Nest is a nice area, close to cottage country in the Shield.

Let me know if you make it, I share season tickets with a group and typically have access to others. Wild/Jets is a brewing rivalry, once they meet in the playoffs it will boil over big time, can't wait!
