ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 to bring this back to baseball, Pachelbel looks a great deal like Oscar Gamble: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61a32FCnZ0L._SY355_.jpgA Polish Gamble in my dictionary is a team below .500 in August that still believes it can win the World Series.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Last time I fired one was late one night around Halloween. Soaked the tennis ball in lighter fluid because then it would leave a trail of blue flame you could see at night. Fired it at the back of a city bus as it left a bus stop. Whack! Then it drove away with a burning circle of blue flame where the ball hit it. We ran like scared rabbits. BTW, they don't make pop cans from steel anymore, so that design is officially obsolete. Soup cans might work, if you could find the right sized ball... ;-)Would, uh, steel pipe work?

Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Wow, just a great at bat there from Sano. 22 going on ?? Surprised by the maturity.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Sano won't even chase in an 11-1 drubbing, kid's disciplined.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Plouffe on the other hand.....
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Gamecast showed at least two of the balls to sano right down the middle......true?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It's been like 3 or 4 innings since Sano hit a HR. What the $%*((# is going on? Slump?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Gamecast showed at least two of the balls to sano right down the middle......true?If it was ball two and ball three, they were high. If you have a chance to watch a game on TV, and on gamecast at the same time, you won't pay much attention to gamecast's pitch locations again.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Obviously Sano is the star of this game, but I hope we can save a little love for Aaron Hicks. He was really feeling his lefty swing today. Possibly a breakthrough.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Hits, catches......but can he dance?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Hits, catches......but can he dance?Of course. He's been mentored.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 The Expos used to be my "other" team back in the day, when they announced Delino Desheilds leading off yesterday I just about fell off my chair!
Blake Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I really thought someone was kidding when they mentioned Achter has an ERA of 40. Surprise, surprise, surprise.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Hits, catches......but can he dance? Not sure if Hicks can dance, but he sure can golf.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Not sure if Hicks can dance, but he sure can golf.So I've heard, but rumour has it he's relatively new to the game. I chuckled a bit when he mentioned last night he's aiming to be ready for the Sr Tour, he clearly has no idea how good those guys are.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 What?!!!! Glunn is a turkey?!!!! Speak up! I was cooking dinner and feeding my worms. I missed a good game.

He was really feeling his lefty swing today. Possibly a breakthrough.I think the breakthrough has already occurred. Hicks was much improved when he came up after being sentenced to serve in Rochester. He has been that much better since getting off the DL and spending more time in upstate New York.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I was cooking dinner and feeding my worms. I missed a good game.Well at least you had a good reason with that second bit there....
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Not sure if Hicks can dance, but he sure can golf.Does Hicks golf right handed? If so, maybe that explains his struggles hitting lefty.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Did they not have Achter's hat size?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Some RF trickery from Sugar Shane....nice.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I have Miguel Sano on the bench of my fantasy baseball team. But as I said yesterday, I can't wait to see Sano when he hits his prime. MLB, watch out.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I just watched the clip of Sano's second homer. Holy ****. Third deck? And it didn't even look like he tried to swing hard? Unbelievable.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 OK, here's a question. Brian Dozier has 71 career homers. Sano has hit seven. Which guy will be the first to get to 100 career homers?
