RAIN OUT - Monday, June 1, 2015

Things to think about.

1)  I'm on vacation (sort of).  Ocean City, relaxing, nice temps, nothing to do.

2)  11 games over .500.  Yeah, that's awesome.

3)  Rainouts - well, at least we don't live in Texas.

4)  Exceeding expectations... Kind of nice for once.

5)  I'm not good at game threads.

My initial reaction was "What!?!?! It's sunny outside" and then immediately derped myself.

Too bad for Chief. I believe he is there in Beantown for this series. Hope they get all the games in and his schedule is flexible enough to work with this.

So, is it better to have a deoo bullpen or another bench player for Wednesday!

Chief not being here, there is no one to think up the answer you probably are expecting.

Last year, I looked forward to off days. This year, off days lead to baseball withdrawal.

I'm not sure if this off day is a good thing or a bad thing for the bullpen. I suppose if at least one of the starters goes 8 innings in the split double header, it's a good thing.

Chief being out of town - if he is - do I get tomorrow or the make up game?

Edit -- or both? I'll take them if they're free, specifically because I had today's ready and it won't make up for the make up game. :P

Why is there speculation on calling someone else to start one of the games on Wednesday?

Sounds like the weather is going to be bad again tomorrow. If they don't play again tomorrow than I'd consider calling up another hitter.

No reason to call up Milone unless you're planning on Nolasco missing a start.  Otherwise you're better off bringing up someone who can pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen.

I wondered about that, too.  The only thing I can see it affects is the schedule this weekend and early next week.

But Berardino also points out that they need to figure out what to do about Nolasco's next startl.

Milone pitched on Saturday so he isn't available until Thursday.

They've got some sorting out to do and they need to make a decision on Ricky.  The Twins don't have another scheduled off-day until Thursday, June 11.

Ha. And I overheard my mom ask my little brother if he wanted to go on a walk, and I was like, "What?!?! It's raining out." Go figure that one. :)

I hate Mondays, I hate rainy Mondays even more.

Not as much as Chief right now I imagine.

I think on an abstract level, i don't really like temporal asymmetry.

So much nicer to do what we want when it suits us. But alas, that path leads to chaos. Or so i assume. I haven't actually looked very far down it.

Meanwhile, Stephen Gonsalves continues to throw zeroes at Cedar Rapids. (6-1, 1.15 ERA)

So right about now, if there had been a game, how might the first inning have transpired?

Dozier would have lead off with a double but would be stranded at 3rd. Pelfrey would have pitched a perfect inning.

I'm confused why would we need a minor league starter?  Do we need a minor league starter every time we have an off day?  I understand the next time through the rotation you would either have to pitch someone on 4 days rest or call someone up, but then it can be Tommy Milone.

Right here, right now
there is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
watching the world wake up from history

I saw the decade in, when it seemed
the world could change at the blink of an eye
And if anything
then there's your sign of the times

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this

Twins take the lead on a sac fly by Suzuki.

(Hypothetical Circus Boy Update, or at least i suppose it to be)

Thanks for the musics to listen to.

All i can offer is that i hear in Spain, the rain stays on the plain. At least most of the time.

Oh, and i can't help but think of a literary reference as well:

"The sun did not shine.

It was too wet to play.

So we sat in the house

All that cold, cold, wet day."

And see if folk like it...
