The Twins might want to make sure Escobar's bat is in the line up on a regular basis, moving forward, the way he is hitting..

The Twins have already won the Liriano trade... Now we must pray that Escobar becomes the second coming of JJ Hardy so we can laugh at Sox fans for a long time.

I laugh at them anyway.

While I've long said that his ceiling is higher than Florimon's (utility player on a good team, as opposed to AA hitter), I'm still a little nervous that the bat won't hold up if he plays every day. The time is right to find out, of course...

Hitters 3-5 are really struggling, as are hitter #7 and #9.

With an eye toward the future, might want to save time/energy by listing non-struggling hitters instead.

Sorry, couldn't resist. You're right, especially in the context of the overall expectations for 2014. The month of April told us that those expectations were upside down. Starters worse, hitters better.

It probably told us wrong. Now we're seeing the inevitable, surprisingly rapid normalization of what was almost certainly a massive outlier month. Both pitching and hitting.

So instead of hoping Escobar is successful so that we can watch him play for years to come, we'd rather him be successful so we can make fun of White Sox fans?

There is only one way to find out and he's earned it. Let him play.

Why would we want a bad fireballing relief pitcher from the Orioles again?

I thought that third run scored by the Indians put the game out of reach, but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

Yeah... Of Course... I don't know how you do it in Canada but... That's an obvious thing. ;)

White Sox fans are that bad, yes.

Two for the price of one, unless I'm missing a third.

Yup. Though i just gave the obvious culmination line. The theatrical production entirely merged the two corresponding fight scenes. The parody itself was of the original trilogy in 3+ hours, set to show tunes. If i recall, a contest to identify all the sources for music was won by someone getting 42 of the 43.

Sam Fuld's mom is watching and praying that he stops making that face.

And says please and thank you.

She and his dad made the face, it's too late now.

TD Game Threads or cryptic crosswords, which ones are easier to solve?

/ gonna go eat dinner for a while, let the keyboard cool down...

About right. We may be small, but we are petty.

Thank God you weren't Sam Houston after the Alamo

Fun inning, great rally. Maybe my favorite part of it was still-newby Jack Morris bordering on the incredulous that Gardy pinch-hit a rook for a guy whose batting average has hovered between his systolic and diastolic for the past 5 weeks.
