Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 There was only room for one of his characters on the roster, not two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz_sqiJBDJsFunny guy, more reason to sign him
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Prediction--Yan Gomes will not with the Gold Glove at catcher in the AL. If we can't ridicule our own players, we can go after the opposition.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Florimon with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored! Here he comes!
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gomes is the catching version of Knoblauch. Yet I don't feel like throwing batteries at him.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hey Brian, Here's a fun fact for you. Nyjer Morgan played a few games for the Regina Pats hockey team. The guy is a good athlete. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=67848 He'd fit right in with the Minnesota Hockey mentality. He should be a Twin... Then we wouldn't have to watch Escobar playing well out there.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Pat: No I'm sorry... That's not it... Ashbury your Up Zyzzyva?
S. Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 You'd take Sam Fuld and Aaron Hicks over a guy who can make catches like that AND bat 296?34 ABs this year, played in NPB in 2013, and has attitude issues. I'd rather we hadn't botched the whole OF situation this offseason instead of either of the options you listed.
Jerr Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 After seeing the lineup? Wish I was back at work:cry: late here and hoping for a Twins' WIN!!!!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Just turned on game and the first thing I see is Nyjer Morgan's robbery of Pinto's XBH. Gamecast isn't working properly, since it shows Nolasco hasn't allowed a baserunner. Gomes doing an excellent job of putting Pinto's 'defensive issues' in perspective... Do not attempt to adjust your gamecast... We control the horizontal. We control the vertical... (original referent cause looking things up is fun.) And sorry i'm too slow to put it on the first reply to yer post.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Don't make me post Randy Marsh's appearance on the Wheel. We'll keep nagging you until you do.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gamecast isn't working properly, since it shows Nolasco hasn't allowed a baserunner. and there goes the no-no Holding LaBombo responsible.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Now Now, Twins/Indians. Perfectly symmetric violence never solved anything. (#9 hitter on, followed by a hit.)

He was available and I don't care what his attitude is. He's better than either Fuld or Hicks.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Does anyone know what happened to the "what's new" button on the toolbar? That's how I keep up with game thread's new posts.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Eight in a row, and now bases loaded two out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Ball hit Colabello in a bad location. His glove.
Reider Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I miss Morneau's defense at first base..
S. Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Sure, me too, but options are what options are. He was available and I don't care what his attitude is. He's better than either Fuld or Hicks."On January 14, 2014, Morgan announced that he had signed a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training with the Cleveland Indians.[29] In spring training, he earned a spot on the 25 man roster and started the 2014 season as the starting center fielder and lead-off batter." Hindsight is 20/20, but on January 14th, none of us actually thought we were going to break camp with Bartlett as an outfielder and no viable options in AAA and have Arcia, Willingham, and Hicks injuries in the first month.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 "Watching" on Gamecast. Will the Twins win their challenge?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Me and my big mouth. I got asymmetry. Lotta ball to play still.
Reider Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Perhaps Colabello could use this glove next game..
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Do not attempt to adjust your gamecast... We control the horizontal. We control the vertical... (original referent cause looking things up is fun.) And sorry i'm too slow to put it on the first reply to yer post. Cool. And as a bonus, Gamecast started working again while I was watching...

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Perhaps Colabello could use this glove next game.. To be fair, it was a play that not every major leaguer would make every time. But he's not a gifted fielder, the play was not made, and I'm gonna gripe. And now in the top of the inning Cola gets robbed by good defense (other side of the field, for those into symmetry).
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 You have to shop for it now Well, I won't. Seriously, why?

I think it's been established that Morgan is a loud mouth with no filter... But... I don't recall him not giving it 200 percent on the field... Maybe he has... I don't recall... if that's the case... I'll take the clown.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Holding LaBombo responsible. The ability to alter a destiny as certain as a Nolasco no-hitter... Must...resist...letting incredible super-power...go to... my... head.
