    I would sign Odo. I like his mettle, he is a guy that will show up. You could tell getting the game 3 start rankled him and his determination showed. That makes him a playoff caliber pitcher in some role anyway. I also see a good chance for durability with him and his smooth delivery. 3-36 max?

    Seriously does anybody think Cleveland would trade Lindor to us? In addition why would a self respecting Twins fan want that guy anyway? He is the enemy and with that crap eating grin he bugs the crap out of me. No thanks. They will not be signing another big ticket FA after signing Donaldson. In a normal year that would be true and this year even more so. After reading Doc's post I would say holding steady on payroll is our best case. The Spanish flu raged from February 1918 till March of 1920. 27 months. Things may be better this summer but not back to the way it was. Fans at 50% capacity might be the best case. I do get the feeling that the Pohlads will continue their stellar response and keep payroll close to the current level. If so let's please put the Pohlads are cheap rant to bed.

    Isn't this the last year of arb for Eddie? If so I'm not sure signing him for 2 years is a good idea unless it's super team friendly. I do see the argument for keeping him and let Kirloff rotate as the 4th instead of Cave. Last year should prove the importance of depth so until enough youngsters prove it...

    The Donaldson contact's species has yet to be determined. Albatross? We'll see. The thing to me is you can't have it both ways. Clamor for the big signing and complain about the attendant contract. You have to pick one.

If you ask me it's somewhere in the middle. On the elite side of middle. I say reload. I know one thing for sure I don't want 5 out of 6 years of 100 loses. That sucked hard. The last 2 years had 162/60 games of fun fandom and 3/2 games of dejection. I will take that over 100 L's every time. With a couple of moves, fewer than last year, they can be right back in it. Sprinkle in some young guys and who knows that spark might just appear like we have seen before. I'm interested in watching that movie.

    I have to say I'm impressed. TDdom is really showing some collective restraint here. I expected all holy hell when I checked in this morning. There were definitely some good takes that deepened my understanding of what happened last night (for me on DVR). That game hinged on the slimmest of margins where we get nailed by "duck farts" and they snare 100mph+ lasers. Here's hoping the scales balance out tonight (today)!

    So you go Maeda, Berrios, Pineda then you have Hill and Odo. They used Hill for the season finale so it's doubtful you use him on short rest these three games, but damn he looks good. Better than almost all the Twins playoff # 2's in the past. Then you also have Odo. People complain about him and how he can't go deep, but he always shows up. He is a bulldog. Remember last year when our backs were against the wall he did pitch well in game 3. 5 innings 2 runs 5k's. I would not sleep on Odo he can be a weapon from the pen in the first round. If they advance Hill and Odo as your 4 and 5? Now that's pretty good!

    Thanks! I do not get the negativity, sorry but it's just ridiculous. 36 wins c'mon get over it. To be honest I do not like the mindset. What is the value of the thought process? Remember worry is a debt paid on a purchase not yet made. I came to this page wanting to celebrate a second consecutive division title. SMH. Anyway thanks again TBTB for trying to lighten this **** up.

    In the past a Twins transaction would invariably leave me shaking my head; while i continued to follow the team with chagrin. We'll that shake has become a happy nod. Maybe a shake with some Baldelli in game decisions... but let's face it is easy to second guess that stuff in hindsight. Let's go!

    I don't understand the dominant thinking here. People have complained that this season would be meaningless because of its strange nature yet they want to avoid the Yankees in the playoffs. I heartily disagree. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Plain and simple. Any post season success this year would only be that much sweeter if it included taking them down. If they beat us again well then it's just not our year and I'll be back here next year hoping for another chance.

    Lookit I hate/fear the Yanks. If you have any interest in breaking the curse you couldn't ask for anything better than 3 games, Maeda, Berrios, Pineda, Bomba Squad and Target Field. LET'S RIP THE FREAKING BANDAID OFF NOW!!!!! YYEEEEAAAHHHHHHH!

    If we gotta face the Yanks 3 games at target field would be pretty sweet. Kenta's era would look even better if the bullpen would have stranded a couple.

    Tough break! Rooker looked good, calm and comfortable at the plate. That righty bat was super valuable on this team. Gotta think Jeffers is a post season lock given his performance and the righty bat.

    I'm with you Travis has been rated a step below the other two and some see him as a utility guy going forward. He's on the 40 man and the time is now to see what you have.

    I'd go with Blankenhorn. Look at Rooker and Jeffers. They both look good and this is great for their development. Those right-handed bats were just what was needed. The production we've gotten has been bad and this could be another spark. If he struggles it won't be any worse.

    Excited to see where Hill is today. The top three are set and look great, Maeda, Pineda and Berrios. Very nice and quite the improvement from last year. Maeda is driven and wants to be relied upon as a top starter. The Twins will keep him happy by keeping him in the rotation. Hill, on the other hand, could be quite valuable in a hybrid role of shorter outings in the short series. Now who steps forward in the next couple of weeks to be the 4th guy when we need it later? Odo, Hill? Dobs doesn't have my confidence as a playoff starter but my also be useful for shorter outings.

    Must be a typo in those earlier comments because when these two teams get together it's clear the Twins are the better team. Maeda just hammers the point home. Tonight it was Buxton and Jeffers tomorrow who's next Donaldson, Cruz, Sano, Polanco?
