  1. #1, #2, and #4 outstanding. #3... a little more TBD because we don't yet know where Chase's development takes him (I certainly appreciated his Moxie) #5... the fact that THIS is #5 demonstrates that they have NOT had more than 4 good trades during their tenure!
  2. One can only imagine the breathtaking number of Ks the Twins would amass against an ACE during the playoffs... It would give them the opportunity to double down on regular season strikeout records with some playoff strikeout records!
  3. 'Miranda has unarguably been the single biggest disappointment among a sea of disappointing Twins hitters this year' Gallo responded... hold my beer....
  4. Pssst...Royce...don't listen to ANY hitting advice from the Twins 'hitting coaches' You keep doing you. Good chat
  5. On a positive note... Gallo's bat was disrupted during a swing by a baseball today!
  6. Royce F-ing Lewis! Correa needs to be batting 6th or lower until he proves otherwise.... enough already.
  7. I doubt the medical staff has said that he absolutely cannot play in the field... the team just thinks that he will theoretically get hurt less not playing in the field. If the medical staff thought that he was not physically able to play in the field, I doubt that they would clear him to be running full speed around the bases and sliding etc. If he truly is medically unfit to play in the field, I would prefer that he gets whatever rest, rehabilitation, surgery etc that is needed to do so. If we honestly signed him to a loooooong term contract knowing that he would likely not be able to play in the field again, it was a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake (especially given our predilection for drafting many defensively limited hitters)
  8. If only there was a platinum glove CF that could be moved off DH so that Julian could play his natural position of DH.... I know.... pure fantasy
  9. Thanks Jeremy and posters... very insightful analysis for someone who doesn't follow the prospects or college baseball much!
  10. 2023 Twins stuff that makes me happy in no particular order (trying to focus on the positives today): 1. Lewis 2. Ryan 3. Duran 4. Ober 5. Stewart 2023 Twins Stuff that could spark happiness in the near future 1. Julian continues development into elite MLB hitter (and a just-good-enough fielder) 2. Wallner to the MLB and sticks (I won't discuss what needs to happen for this to work... because this is a positive post ;) 3. Buck in CF again at ANY point this season (to signify that the long-term plan is not only DH) 4. Blaze develops into a bullpen weapon this year 5. Polanco comes back healthy for the 2nd part of the year (I believe he is our most reliable offensive spark when healthy)
  11. Established stars actually playing like stars (Correa and Buck) Blossoming stars playing like stars (Lewis and Ryan) Now THIS is the kind of formula we need for sustained success. We Shall See
  12. First off, let's all wish Lopez well and hope he is getting the care he needs. Mental health IS physical health... the brain is the most complex and least understood organ in the body. Second, kudos Nick for a thoughtful and accurate summary of the current status of the Twins. Finally, my summary... wake up FO and start working the obvious problems!
  13. Congrats to Blaze! I am impressed with how he responded to his Spring training setback. Hopefully, he/we will look back at the incident as pivotal in his development into an MLB pitcher with a long career!
  14. Having Buck pinch hit showed once again how tone deaf Rocco's 'management' remains. I don't bet on sports but I wonder what the odds were for a strikeout during that AB
  15. Krill and Lewis should be playing everyday and above Buck and Correa in the lineup. We should allow them to develop as our future stars until they prove otherwise. They are young, hungry and more productive than the alternatives.
  16. Not disappointed! But, we need to address the positional inflexibility that Buck causes at DH. SSS but the offense actually seemed to flow better and be able to adjust better with Buck out of DH Also, when Buck and Correa are in a protracted slump, they need to be 'hitting' lower in the order. Best/hottest hitters should be batting at the top of the order to get more AB. Lewis/Krill/Julian should be hitting higher in the order until Correa and Buck prove otherwise
  17. Yes... because unfortunately, nothing about this win suggests that the fundamental flaws are improving and the formula for this win is not sustainable.
  18. Value play to save money for elsewhere!
  19. P: Santana: 3 RP: Reardon: 2 1B: Morneau: 3 2B: Dozier: 2 SS: Guzman: 1 3B: Gaetti: 5 C: Mauer: 5 RF: Brunansky: 3 CF: Puckett: 5 LF: Gary Ward: 1 DH: Thome: 3
