  1. Cossetti needs to be moved up. He's 23 years old.... no need to wait too long to see what we have.
  2. I think it is safe to say that getting ride of the shift did not solve Kepler's hitting problem....🙄
  3. I wish Maeda a fast recovery but the one silver lining is that it is.... Ober Time! (I'm bullish like many on his potential) I'm actually ready to end the Moran experiment faster than the Pagan experiment this year....
  4. This! I'll add the following... is he playing injured again? What are his numbers since that big spill he took? (post concussion? can't remember if he it his head but seem to remember he did) Something is not right in my opinion. If it isn't, the Twins need to sit him down an let him get right. Please do not repeat the months of injured play he had last year!
  5. "But the lineup does need some fixing, and getting Buxton into center to free up the DH spot here and there would be a simple incremental improvement." This! Taylor is NOT a starting CF but his IS a great 4th outfielder. As I've stated numerous times... The return of a healthy Kirilloff should be considered a luxury this season and not part of any plan or strategy because chronic wrist injuries are horrible for doing one of the hardest things in sports. I wish him the absolute best, but remain very concerned for the long run. I L-O-V-E the starting rotation performance and moxie! (and Pagan is getting people out! ... I just hope that does not signal the end of days :)
  6. Thanks for clearing up the concern! I in no way intended 'Baldi' to be a derogatory nickname referencing his hair but I now see how that could be the interpretation. I will not use that nickname going forward!
  7. Miranda will find his way to 1B sooner rather than later (I don't think Krill's wrist is going to hold long term but I hope I'm wrong)
  8. My hairline stress fracture healed up years ago with rest and recovery. How kind of you to inquire though!
  9. Good points Seth! More specifically I should have used the term 'command' (which I think often dictates RP variability year over year) instead of 'locked in.' I worry that Sands will not have the command that Coulombe will have this season and therefore not be as useful despite better velo and spin rate. But, I'm definitely not a baseball scout so we shall see (and I hope that I'm wrong)
  10. Ugh... most of you are spot on but far more diplomatic than me. Major Blunder by FO. You have to figure out which relievers are 'on' from year to year and latch onto them. Coulolombe appeared to be pretty locked in this year and certainly had more upside than Sands. Dobnak is still around for long relief help and not going anywhere. There is no need to cling to Sands. Coulombe or Hoffman+ 3mil saved and utilized for trade deadline and/or future signings also probably >>> Pagan. Painful decisions...
  11. I hope Gray continues to hold Baldi accountable throughout the year. Not all pitchers are the same and not all starts by each pitcher are the same. You can't use one algorithm. Some days pitchers will have more stamina and easy/sustained velo while feeling goooood. Let them roll through the 3rd and (GASP) 4th time through the order when that occurs. I hope to see a little more situational awareness in game by Baldi this year with accountability provided by players and management if he cannot or will not improve in this area.
  12. Ugh... a prolonged need for any of the above is not compatible with a championship season
  13. "The bar for offense at designated hitter is high, as you might expect given the title. Placing a mediocre bat there is an easy path to competitive disadvantage." This!
  14. Big hit to offence without Krill and Polo....line up gets thin quickly
  15. I'll say the RANGE for possible win totals has never been so wide for me (anywhere between 72 and 90 wins would honestly no surprise me) Big potential variations that I'll be watching closely 1. Buck's health and games started in CF (duh) 2. Mahle's health and ability to play at his top level throughout the season 2a. AK's wrist over long season 3. Lewis's performance upon return 4. Ober (I think he could flash #2 SP ability this year..... ducking to avoid flying rotten fruit) 5. Will the real Lopez please stand up in the bullpen? 6. Miranda' s defense at 3rd base (I think he'll definitely hit but his value is so much higher as a competent 3rd baseman that 1st where he seems destined to end up)
  16. I remain most nervous about Krilloff and Mahle long term Wrists are very delicate and undergo a lot of repeated stress. I continue to be concerned that Mahle has thoracic outlet syndrome (not picked up on scans) I hope I'm over worrying!
  17. I think this singling out shows that the Twins in no way evaluated the situation as an unavoidable random act of violence as some on this site seemed inexplicably ready to believe as Balze's account.
  18. Do NOT take my conspiracy theories away from me! What will I have left! :)
  19. He'll be gone from the dugout by the end of the season and into a 'front office consultant role' which will fit him perfectly. I get the feeling that he is a big but methodical thinker, but not so great with fluid, agile, short fuse decision making that is required for a great manager. No offence to Rocco, he's just in the wrong place to maximize his talents
  20. Lee to 3rd and Miranda to 1st and let Polonco and Julian figure out 2nd ... but then there is Lewis... what great problems to have! (I have my serious doubts about Krills long term health but I hope I'm wrong). Lee may end up being like Moss, Jefferson, Peterson, Culpepper falling into Vikings lap.... aweseome!
  21. That prize combo of Nick -leback -punto is absolutely hilarious. Made my day.... Kudos
  22. are we sure the radars are calibrated correctly?
  23. MORE COWBELL! (....and Nick Gordon is a valuable asset that I do not think has peaked yet)
