  1. First off, let's all wish Lopez well and hope he is getting the care he needs. Mental health IS physical health... the brain is the most complex and least understood organ in the body. Second, kudos Nick for a thoughtful and accurate summary of the current status of the Twins. Finally, my summary... wake up FO and start working the obvious problems!
  2. Congrats to Blaze! I am impressed with how he responded to his Spring training setback. Hopefully, he/we will look back at the incident as pivotal in his development into an MLB pitcher with a long career!
  3. Having Buck pinch hit showed once again how tone deaf Rocco's 'management' remains. I don't bet on sports but I wonder what the odds were for a strikeout during that AB
  4. Krill and Lewis should be playing everyday and above Buck and Correa in the lineup. We should allow them to develop as our future stars until they prove otherwise. They are young, hungry and more productive than the alternatives.
  5. Not disappointed! But, we need to address the positional inflexibility that Buck causes at DH. SSS but the offense actually seemed to flow better and be able to adjust better with Buck out of DH Also, when Buck and Correa are in a protracted slump, they need to be 'hitting' lower in the order. Best/hottest hitters should be batting at the top of the order to get more AB. Lewis/Krill/Julian should be hitting higher in the order until Correa and Buck prove otherwise
  6. Yes... because unfortunately, nothing about this win suggests that the fundamental flaws are improving and the formula for this win is not sustainable.
  7. Value play to save money for elsewhere!
  8. P: Santana: 3 RP: Reardon: 2 1B: Morneau: 3 2B: Dozier: 2 SS: Guzman: 1 3B: Gaetti: 5 C: Mauer: 5 RF: Brunansky: 3 CF: Puckett: 5 LF: Gary Ward: 1 DH: Thome: 3
  9. As goes Correa and Buck, so will go the team. Buck is simply not a good option for a permanent DH. If he remains a permanent DH, his contract is absolutely NOT team friendly anymore because of the downstream effects it has on positional and lineup flexibility. I'm not even convinced that he will be the best permanent DH option by the end of the year (looking at you Julian)
  10. ugh... yet another example of why we need Buck in CF and not clogging up the DH spot
  11. Mor-ain't supposed to be pitching for an MLB team with post season aspirations.
  12. Are we a better team with Buck at DH? (vs. Julian or positional flexibility).... I think that this will become an increasingly relevant (and uncomfortable) question as the season progresses. I know this comment will have a lot of blow back.... but I'm not trying to troll. For those who think this is an easy 'yes'... let's revisit in a couple months.
  13. My heart says keep him, but my brain says trade him or let him go with his mounting injury/age and talent rising beneath him. (but again... it hurts to write this)
  14. I'll be far more excited when he doing those max effort sprints.... in CF.... during games. I'm actually not missing him much at DH. I've enjoyed the positional flexibility of DH being open and honestly think Julian will prove to be the superior DH in the not-to-distant future.
  15. Further proof that if Correa (and eventually Buck), as our stars, provide even their average career production, this team is faaaaaaaar more competitive.
  16. If he stays at DH, he limits flexibility to use other poor fielding great hitters in our organization... so if only a DH... not good. not good at all....
  17. Baseball realignment after sustained central division pathetic performance?
  18. I would be interested in an update about E Rod from someone in the know. By box scores, he certainly seems to be struggling.....Is he working on something, nagging injury.....?
  19. No, no they should not... (though that 'chasing' mentality did build Las Vegas!)
