  1. I've been saying that for two years. I would rather watch rookies with energy than veterans who are lackadaisical.
  2. He may replace Michael A Taylor as the Buxton doppelganger. If he can hit .230 with a little power, and steal bases, the Twins would have $3.5M extra to put towards a relief pitcher.
  3. In the opening paragraph, you say the Twins have two representatives in the Futures game. Later, you say Festa is the only representative. Which is it?
  4. Thrown out who? Or did you mean "would have been thrown out? Proofread, proofread, proofread.
  5. From what little I've seen of Lewis, what I like best is his hustle. Stretching singles to doubles, doubles to triples, scoring from first on a base hit, etc. can ignite a team. Glad he's back - to stay (I hope).
  6. If this article doesn't place a jinx on Duran, I don't know what will.
  7. Please proof read your comments before submitting. This short paragraph took far too long to translate into English.
  8. How about an outside the box idea? Lewis to CF, Kirilloff to RF, and Buxton to 1B. 3B could be covered by Farmer (or Miranda if his hitting ability returns.
  9. I thought this article was about the question of if the Twins CAN get better at the deadline. I think the question should be "Should The Twins Try To Get Better at the Deadline?" I would prefer to see the Twins make available for real contenders: Gallo, Kepler, Polanco, Gordon, Castro, Solano, Thielbar, J. Lopez. If any contender makes a decent offer (AAA, or top level AA players), go for it, switch gears to a youth movement, and look forward to 2024. I prefer watching teams that hustle, take extra bases, try to get hits, etc. rather than swing for the fences and then walk back to the dugout. Boring.
  10. Teel and the Virginia Cavaliers were eliminated from the CWS last weekend.
  11. Time to drop Wallner down to Wichita! He was 0-3 and his average is under .300. Good thing the Twins have a strong OF.
  12. Who are these "more than enough suitors" for players like Kepler, Gallo, Larnach, Castro, etc? I don't see anyone beating down the doors to trade for any one of those.
  13. Here's an idea. If the Reds need pitching, how about trading Sonny Gray for this minor leaguer named Chase Petty?
  14. I stand corrected. Thanks. I had recorded the game and it was about 1:00AM here in Maine when it happened. I may have nodded off for a moment when the defensive change was made. And the Red Sox announcers weren't much help. They said it was Julien batting.
  15. And yet, he pulled Julien who was 2 for 3 against Whitlock (and a left against right matchup) for Farmer to set up a right against right matchup. Huh?
  16. Does Wallner frustrate you or did you mean you're frustrated with how the FO is handling Wallner?
  17. I would also try to move Vasquez (if the return is good), Gallo, Castro, and Polanco.
  18. I think that most of the comments supporting Gray could be summarized thusly: "I think Gray is right because I hate Baldelli, always have, and always will."
  19. I believe Madea is a character played by Tyler Perry. And a prominent figure in Greek literature.
  20. Let me see if I understand your thinking. The Twins, as a team, have potential. But, despite that potential, they have little chance of advancing in the playoffs against elite teams. Therefore, you wouldn't try too hard to improve the Twins but you also wouldn't trade with contenders in hopes of being better next year. The end result of this strategy is that the Twins begin 2024 with a team that has potential but no chance in the playoffs (if they make it that far). This doesn't appeal to me at all. I do agree that there is some potential and that they can't compete with the big dogs. The Twins have to get better to win games in the playoffs. And one of the best ways is to trade anyone that is not a meaningful piece of the 2024 version of the Twins for younger players with potential. I would rather see a young team full of potential than a team that has a very good chance of not getting past round one of the playoffs (if they even make the playoffs).
  21. It appears from this article that reaching 150 innings in one season is like climbing Mt. Everest. The baseball season is just over six months long. 150 innings over six months comes out to 25 innings per month or about six innings a week. To get paid millions for only six innings a week of work is ridiculous. If a starter feels strong and is pitching well, leave him in the game until he isn't. Nolan Ryan pitched for 27 seasons and averaged just under 200 innings a year (6.67/game). Bert Blyleven pitched for 22 seasons and averaged 226 innings a year (7.1/game). Athletes are better conditioned today? Maybe for bodybuilding or going to the beach. Certainly not for pitching it seems.
  22. Buxton and Correa are both hitting barely over Mendoza line. But at least Correa is contributing on defense. What an arm.
  23. Interesting tweet. Wallner hit his eighth home run and now has a HR in 21 straight games.
  24. It was just sarcasm - not a call for a trade.
