  1. I went to milb.com/GameDay, selected which level of play I wanted, and found the corresponding Twins team.
  2. My two cents. Unless a player has a no-trade clause in his contract, everyone should be available for trade - if the price is right. Buyers with a real chance at winning the World Series have been known to make trades that appear to be one-sided.
  3. I hope Maeda and Kepler keep going to the end of July. Their trade value will be quite high.
  4. Miranda made a couple of very nice plays yesterday. But until he starts hitting, I agree with you about Castro/Farmer. There several players in St. Paul who deserve a look.
  5. The focus of his time at Driveline was to increase his velocity from 87 to 88? Really?
  6. So, to summarize, if Gallo gets better in the second half, the signing might break even. I don't think that shatters the failure narrative.
  7. Just pick the best player available and don't try to "outthink" other front offices.
  8. Is the strike zone box supposed to be accurate? There were a lot of pitches tonight that were clearly outside the box that were called strikes. Some even a full ball-width outside the box. If he box is accurate, that was some pretty crappy umpiring.
  9. It kind of sounds like a way to negate the purpose of the draft. If the Twins go to prospect A (who they want at pick 34) and tell him they are willing to go $1M over slot (by choosing a lesser value player at pick 5, what prevents any other team from drafting him and not pay him over slot? If Player A doesn't want to sign for slot money, are his choices to either return to school if he has eligibility left or does he go work for UPS for a year and hope he gets more next year? And if another team picks him, the Twins just screwed themselves on pick 5. Seems like trading draft picks would be a more transparent way of accomplishing the same thing.
  10. I don't understand this under slot/over slot nonsense. Help!
  11. I have more faith in Jeffers than in most of the team. For example, I was watching Kepler a couple nights ago, late in the game with runners on. He got to a 3-2 count and I said out loud "Strike three looking." The next words from the TV - STRIKE THREE LOOKING.
  12. Miguel Cordero is in his age-16 season? Doesn't baseball have any child labor laws? With almost all young players, the common question is if he's old enough to vote. But with Cordero, you need to ask if he's ever driven a car! This is a name to track.
  13. Those are your top "pitchers" for June? I think they might be hitters (sort of). However, I do agree that the life Lewis brings to the Twins give him the edge over everyone else,
  14. To The Minor League Recap Staff Please stop highlighting Wallner's achievements in the headlines. It is so depressing to see that day after day while the Twins' keep trotting out .200 batters. It's great to see all the SBs in the minors. Hopefully some of that reaches the Twins.
  15. I thought I read somewhere that Baldelli had a meeting and that was followed by a "players only" meeting. As a famous president once said, "I may have misremembered".
  16. Because the meeting was "players only", I would assume no coaches were allowed to sit in.
  17. Nice game by Lopez. Great trade by the front office to get him. Got rid of Arraez. He's 2 for 12 in his last three games. Go Bandwagon!! 😇
  18. If you like Castro, then he's back on team. Unless, of course, he needs to be included in a trade to get the prospects you want.
  19. The Twins will get swept by the Orioles but it won't end the season for them. By that is only because they are contractually obligated to complete the season. The should have a large sign on their home page that reads: FOR SALE Jorge Polanco Joey Gallo Max Kepler Sonny Gray Kenta Madea Michael A. Taylor Emilio Pagan Christian Vasquez Kyle Farmer Willie Castro Donovan Solano ANY REASONABLE OFFER WILL BE Accepted If, from all the names above, the Twins can pick up some young, talented AA and AAA players, I would be happy. Those that no one wants can be benched, DFA'd, or used sparingly as starters. Time to start the transformation to a solid team. (One other thing. DON'T DRAFT ANOTHER POSITION-LESS SLUGGER!)
  20. Oops. My mistake. I meant to have Wallner in RF and Kirilloff at 1B. By the time my thought travelled from my brain to my fingers, I forgot Wallner. I'm old and losing it quicker than a Duran fastball.
  21. I would like to see an outfield of Contreras in RF, Stevenson in CF, Kirilloff in LF, And Williams a 1B. Conrtreras, Stevenson, and Williams can hardly do worse than Gallo, Taylor and Kepler. See what they can do for the rest of the season.
  22. This article certainly was depressing. I guess I'll go do some lawn maintenance to lift my spirits.
  23. That would be a good start only if a lot more changes happen over the next 30 days. Sell, sell, sell.
  24. For what it's worth, Keith Law released his latest mock draft. He has the Twins selecting Jacob Gonzales, a shortstop from the University of Mississippi who he says is a "very solid player for what he is, but with limited potential for more". That sounds like a waste of a #5 draft pick.
