    The question should be who provide an upgrade to the offense than Michael A Taylor. Buxton remains in the lineup and Taylor sits. Wallner, Julien, Larnach can all upgrade the offense.

    I'm reading a lot of prognosticating about Wallner's and Larnach's abilities as major leaguers - both positive and negative. But right now, I don't believe anyone can speculate. It's time (actually long past time) to bring them and let them play themselves into a permanent spot on the roster or fail and be sent back to AAA next spring. And I would add Williams and Stevenson to the list also.

    My opinion is that regardless of whether you think Gray will retire, sign an extension, or opt for free agency, the Twins need to inform the other 29 teams that they are willing to listen to any offer for him. The Twins can always say "No Thanks" to any offer they don't like.

    MLB's latest top 100 prospects list (and 50 others who just missed) was released yesterday. Walker Jenkins was the only Twins' draft pick mentioned. A comp A or B draft pick doesn't guarantee a top 150 prospect.

    That's not the topic I was responding to. But since you asked, my opinion changes almost daily. The draft last weekend has me thinking "good job, boys. Keep it up". But then I see Wallner still in the minors and I think "They gotta go!". Overall for me, the positives from the draft are already fading and I leaning towards booting them.

    I think that the key statement in the article is "calling any of the contending teams (in the AL Central Division) a playoff threat would be lying ". So I will repeat, reiterate, and say once more - SELL! SELL! SELL!

    If you are referring to Steer and Encarnacion-Strand, they could hit before they left the Twins.

    I'm not sure that Trade Values is a good resource for moves made at the trade deadline. IMHO, buyers tend to overpay at the deadline to add the "one last piece" that will make them a World Series contender.

    The only thing I would change in your comment is that I think that it would be time for the front office to go rather than the manager (not that the manager shouldn't go at some point). If you've traded or DFA'd under performing players and you still don't have the right players, that's the fault of the front office, not the manager. The manager should be fired for many reasons but personnel isn't one of them.

    I've read some comments at The Athletic and Bleacher Report comparing Jenkins to Larry Walker. That would be incredible. A power hitter with base hit skills and a good fielder with a strong arm. Great Day 1.

    What do we do? SELL! SELL! SELL! The Twins are below .500, not in 1st place (in the worst division in MLB), and have a record of 36-45 against all teams not named Kansas City or Oakland. This is not a team that can advance in the playoffs (if they even make the playoffs). Time to look towards 2024 and beyond. Everyone on this team should be available for trade for the right price. If playoff contenders are willing to give up top prospects for one player (like Steer and Encarnacion-Strand for Mahle), make the trade. Get the young guys on the MLB team and see how they perform for the next 71 games.

    Exactly. I've been asking for the last two years for Twins Daily to add names. At least this time it was obvious because Festa was the only Twins prospect in the Futures game.

    Every national "last draft" that I've read has Jacob Gonzales as the Twins pick. I hope he has a lot of unknown talents that we aren't privy to.

    This is a perfect time to be a seller. There are a lot of buyers and not a lot to pick from. It's like a grocery store meat counter during COVID. The Twins can possibly win the ALC but the odds of them advancing beyond the first round are very slim (according to thelines.com). Time to offer to contenders anyone not in the 2024 plans. Think long term.

    Serious inquiry - are these mock drafts based on how the different outlets rank players or are they predictions of when they will be drafted?

    How many of you would like to see MLB get rid of the rule prohibiting trading draft picks? It would be a much cleaner draft if the Twins could trade the #5 pick for a somewhat lower first round pick and a top 4 prospect (or a good young player already in the majors).

    If you also include Philadelphia's run last year, that makes twice in 35 years. That's a 5% success rate. I would not mortgage the Twins future given those odds.

    IMHO, the Twins aren't nearly ready to compete with the big boys. I think they should make everyone available for trade as long as the return as the return is significant.
