    That is an excellent idea. He's athletic so he should be able to pick up the nuances of 1B pretty quickly. Having one more position on his resume might just get him an extended look with the Twins. Or it might confirm that the Twins have no interest in him except as an emergency replacement player.

    What about those of us that hate social media? How can we keep up? Google says it's less than a 7-hour drive. I think Google has never driven among the M*******s near Boston, the Connecticut traffic, or anywhere within 100 miles of NYC. Especially on a weekend near the end of summer.

    The OP says that the Twins right-handed batters haven't held their own against left-handed pitching and it is magnified by their best hitters also being left-handed. My thought is: why not let the best hitters face left-handed pitchers. Screw analytics and let the best players play.

    Why is Joey Gallo still on the Twins' roster? I know this has nothing to do with the minor league report, but isn't that sentence required to be in the comments of every article? It sure seems like it.

    I really liked the clip of MAT hitting his home run. Because he wasn't sure whether or not the ball would clear the fence, he put his head down and ran as fast as possible until he learned it was gone. That's the way baseball is supposed to be played. Well done, MAT!

    I can't imagine that Correa's "bad" ankle is causing his poor performance in the batter's box. If his ankle was bothering him, there's no possible way he could play shortstop the way he does.

    No one has mentioned the promotion of Kiersey Jr. and Severino to the Saints. Congrats to them also.

    I looked up all the #31 to #39 (the most likely spot for a comp pick for Gray to be) draft picks from 2010 to 2020. That's 99 selections over 11 years. About 15% of these guys made any impact in the major leagues. Personally, I don't like those odds. I would much rather take a chance on a known player (AAA and ready to move up or a young, controllable ML player) than roll the dice at 8.5 to 1 odds.

    Another article that suggests who the Twins should acquire with no mention of the asset cost of these trades. As has been stated in numerous articles, all the other central division teams are sellers which essentially concedes the division crown to the Twins. This means to me they should trade Gray to a contender for a right-handed outfielder, trade Maeda to a contender for a relief pitcher, and trade Polanco or Kepler to a contender for another relief pitcher. It's a seller's market. The players coming to the Twins must be AAA level or controllable young major league players. The Twins only need three starters for the playoffs (Lopez, Ryan, and Ober). For offense, the Twins really need Buxton and Correa to step up. They may break the 0-18 streak and maybe even win a series, but they probably won't get any further. Think long term, not short term.

    St. Louis is a seller so why would they want anyone on an expiring contract?

    I looked back at all the MLB draft picks between 31 and 39 (the most likely spot for a compensation pick) for the years 2010-2020. That provided 99 picks over 11 years. Only roughly 15% had any impact in the major leagues. I would much rather trade Gray for a AAA, controllable player than roll the dice on a draft pick with only 1 to 8.5 odds of making the major leagues. The chances of success are much higher.

    Remember the Brittany Spears song "Oops I Did It Again"? That should be the theme song for the Twins. A winning streak followed by a losing streak. Look like a playoff team for a short time and then play like the '62 Mets. I hope they don't blow up the already depleted farm system (remember 2022?) just for the chance to break a losing streak. Think long term and sell anyone not in the 2024 plans (if anyone wants them!).

    The article says Raya and Headrick. Because the Twins farm system is so deplete of top-level starting pitchers, I would hope an extension for Hadar is part of the trade conversation.

    The back of my mind is screaming "an asset to fix something.". No reason for this idea but I think he would be a perfect extra player that completes a trade for something good.

    Witt, Jr. should be suspended for the rest of the season. He cheated. He did not lean back, shut his eyes, swing from his heals, and strike out. The Twins always follow this unwritten rule. They had double-digit strikeouts for the billionth time this season.

    Disagree 100%. His first injury was caused by a Texan trying to walk on ice. The second was twisting his knee when jumping for a ball. I tore my miniscus walking! I was 73 at the time and I'm due for a knee replacement in December. Am I "injury prone"? I doubt it. I played goalie up until I tore the miniscus and never hurt my knee before. Put him in center field.
