  1. I agree. Here is my proposed lineup right now. Assumption: Buxton, Correa, Polanco, Kepler, and Vasquez all placed on the IL. CF Andrew Stevenson 2B Eduard Julien SS Royce Lewis 1B Alex Kirilloff RF Matt Wallner LF Trevor Larnach 3B Brooks Lee C Ryan Jeffers DH Jose Miranda Bench: Taylor, Castro, Solano, and Jair Carmargo What's your lineup?
  2. Even if the Twins had a .400 hitter, the next three guys would just strike out and leave him stranded.
  3. But did this new leader believe in analytics? If not, the Twins wouldn't hire him (or her).
  4. I just returned from The Netherlands where wind power is the primary force that controls the water levels of the entire country. A lot of money was spent creating this resource. They should have just bought the Twins and relocated them to Amsterdam.
  5. Does Rocco schedule mandatory rest days for pitchers? Maybe that needs adjusting. 😁
  6. I almost agree 100% but not quite. I would think that the only teams that would trade for a Polanco/Kepler/Gallo player is a contending team needing to patch a hole. And the only thing they would trade is prospects. Now, if the Twins are sellers at the deadline, I would hope they can trade all three (and others).
  7. I know that my opinion flies in the face of "modern" thinking, but I would prefer to see a return to fundamental, team baseball. By this I mean: Hustling at all times Hitting the cutoff man Being aware of what's going on around you (such as Kepler not advancing on Taylor's steal of third) Attempting to hit (not obliterate) a baseball Putting the team goals ahead of personal goals Allowing healthy players to play every day (not have scheduled days off) To accomplish at least some of the above goals, a whole new mindset is necessary. And that means changes not only to the roster, but also to the front office, the manager, and the coaching staff. I have always been a strong proponent of the current front office and of Rocco Baldelli, but I will admit the error of my ways. The season may still be salvageable but changes need to happen fast. Otherwise, the next off-season better be a thorough cleansing.
  8. The title of this article should be THERE AIN'T NO HELP IN ST. PAUL!!
  9. Lee isn't on the Twins so the question is between Polanco and Lewis - who plays 2B?
  10. You want the guys with the most range up the middle but you hope that Polanco is at 2B for a few more years? Isn't that a contradiction? Why aren't you advocating for moving Polanco to 3B and Lewis to 2B? Or is your theory only valid some of the time?
  11. In my youth, I remember a kid playing for the Minneapolis Millers (AAA affiliate of the NY Giants) who was hitting .477 with 8 HRs and 35 RBIs when he got called up. He started his major league career by batting .175 in his first 15 games. But the Giants stuck with him. And Willie Mays ended up being the Rookie of the Year (and had a decent career). I'm not saying Julien is the next Willie Mays, but don't write him off just yet.
  12. I keep hearing that he's eligible to be activated May 29th. But I also keep hearing that he's eligible to be activated June 1st. Does anyone actually know which day is correct? And add a reference so I know it isn't just what you heard or read.
  13. Padres have Manny Machado at 3B. Where does Miranda go? DH? They have Matt Carpenter and Nelson Cruz. Is Miranda any better? They have Fernando Tatis in RF. I'm pretty sure he's better than Kepler. Lopez replace Hader? Not a chance! And Woods-Richardson is not going to return Josh Hader.
  14. If I were San Diego, I wouldn't trade Hader for all four of those guys.
  15. I have no access to the televised game and I'm too lazy to pull up the game tracker. What the heck is the score and what inning is it?
  16. This has nothing to do with last night's game. But because there are so many comments about the game, I want to ask a question. What does the entry in the comment section of some articles that says "Comments are deleted for future articles" mean?
  17. Violence against officials of youth sports have been physically attacked quite often. That is why I questioned his intent.
  18. I hope that you are referring to professional umpires/referees and not the others. And I also hope you meant verbal abuse only. If not, then your comment is repugnant.
  19. Cherry-picking statistics has proven to be the best way to "prove" that your opinion is the best.
  20. According to the provided box score link, Maya threw 38 pitches - 24 strikes and 14 balls.
  21. I'm not sure I buy into your premise. And the reason is that none of the statistics you offer start with an "w" and/or end with a plus sign. Just the old stuff like ERA and WHIP. (End of sarcasm)
