  1. Awesome win Twins! If Paddock comes through like that even just once in a while that would be a huge boost for Twins. So why when the Twins are losing the refrain is always its early. But when we have a nice winning streak going you never hear that it's too early? Weird when the winning streak comes right after a 7-13 start. It's fun but it's still early. Great job Twins. Let's make it 22 on saturday.
  2. Oh please. You are kidding of course! It must be Stu Randball article in pen name
  3. I know it's just satire. But this article is neither funny nor entertaining.
  4. I find it very offensive that the Twins say they had no hand in this TV mess saying its a problem between Bally and Comcast. What a joke. They had a chance to do right and go elsewhere for their TV rights and get more access to Twins games not less. They chose to take Bally (Diamond ) instead and screw the fans. How did they do that? Well they claimed poverty all winter and cut payroll by $30 million. Then later agreed to accept an 85% offer which still netted them roughly $48 million by numerous reports. Did they reinvest that back into the club after that? Of course not. Many of us have been unable to watch the Twins for going on 5 years due to not having access to it anymore. They told us then that it would be fixed. It wasn't. And now it's worse. Twins keep showing more and more that they are not fan friendly. Shame on you Twins! Don't try to blame others. If nothing else it sure shows how weak their public relations department is.
  5. I love this system just as it is. I read TD everyday and comment at times. I know my comments can be negative at times. And my opinions regarding the Twins may be wrong but they may be right you never know. The negative contributors are very valuable. Otherwise all TD would be is a PR forum for the Twins. That would be far worse IMO. I love TD just the way it is. Listening to all the comments is very entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work!
  6. Very nice article. I agree with your assessments. Although I lovevtge 10 game winning streak ( who wouldnt) I'm afraid it covered up some of the many flaws on this team. It's one thing to beat up on the weak sisters of the poor, i.e. white sox and angels. I'm hoping we hold our own against the Red Sox, Mariners, Blue Jay's, Yankees, and guardians we have in our next 5 series. Go Twins.
  7. Great 10 game winning streak. Awesome. Now let's see what happens when we play some major league teams coming up. The Twins will have Red Sox, Mariners, Blue Jay's, Yankees, and Guardians coming up. I hope they perform well. As for Buxton, it's the same old, same old. Just trying to pick a date when he goes down. No the sky isn't falling. Only Buxton as usual. Yet some people here think our season is doomed because Byron may be hurt again. We'll they have always found someone to replace him and have done well. This time it probably be Martin who played admirably before being sent down. To bad for Byron but the Twins will be fine without him.
  8. Great job Twins! Doing what you should do. And that is beating up on the dregs of baseball. Now tge dreadful White Sox for 3. I know, they just swept the Ray's. Who saw that coming?? Anyway let's keep in mind that the Twins winning streak and sudden offensive explosion did come at the hands of those dregs. Not to minimize it. But it's true. The Twins didn't fare all that well earlier this year against teams above .500. In May we get teams like the Red Sox. Rays, Blue Jay's, Yankees. guardians, etc. Let's see how we fare then. Good I hope!. With Correa and some others soon coming back from injuries, I would expect us to be ultra competitive against some of the top dogs as well. Let's sweep Chicago again and extend the win streak to 10! Go Twins!
  9. Let's not get too excited over the somewhat improved stats by winning three and shortly 4 games from the White Sox. They masquerade as a major league team but in reality aren't much better than a AA team. The fact is they are terrible. Any conclusions that the Twins bats are back after playing them is really a stretch. Twins are still playing overall poor baseball just not as poor as the liely White Sox. Next week we should win all 3 games in Chicago. Then we start playing real teams again. We shall see. Maybe beating up on the dregs will somehow get us in a positive mode. I am not holding my breath.
  10. Great comments by all. Blaming the schedule is ridiculous. Is anyone blaming the schedule now that we are playing the absolutely dreadful White Sox? Blaming the fact you are playing better teams shows how far the team is from being a top team. I put most of it on the ownership and FO. The ownership for cutting payroll by so much and doing such an unprofessional job in handling it. I blame the FO for coming up with new excuses for inept play. Yes the players need to play better. But the FO put the team together. They share in the responsibility. Of course players like playing here, especially the veterans. There's very little pressure on them by the media and especially the management to perform. The fact that we may soon reach .500 by beating up on the AA White Sox shouldn't mask the many problems with this team.
  11. It's hard to knock a Twins win because they don't come very often. The best part was coming from behind in the last couple of innings and walking it off. Otherwise it was a pretty poor game. And yes this is the White Sox. The now 3-20 AA team embarrassing themselves and MLB masquerading as a major league team. Concerned about Lopez. He hasn't been sharp lately. Oh yes people are blaming the weather for his poor start? I think the weather was the same for the Sox pitcher Fedde and he shut us down with no problems. It is just hard for me to get too excited by beating such a terrible team in such an ugly fashion. But yes a win is a win and we need a lot of them. Only 11,000 fans there. Attendance so far is a problem. Go Twins. U R
  12. Tough series for the Twins because the Sox are so bad they resemble a AA team. So it's tough because they should beat them. Hopefully this will expected sweep of the White Sox will help them gain some confidence and build some momentum. But scoringn7bruns and shutting out a team that is so bad is not a great achievement. But a necessary one. With Lopez, Ryan, and Ober the next 3 scheduled starters anything less than a sweep is inexcusable. Go Twins!
  13. Great article as usual. Yes missing Correa, Lewis, and Kepler hurts. But the other vets on the team and some of the young players have not produced. Not a good combination. This FO continues to make baffling personnel decisions.
  14. Twins play the double AA White Sox posing as a major league team 7 of their next 10 games. They are pitiful as their 3-18 record shows. Twins really need to sweep all those 7 games. Not likely but anything less than a 5-2 would be a major concern. Maybe they can get in a groove and carry it over when they then play tougher teams. Go Twins.
  15. Although Rocco keeps preaching process over results, this is the major leagues. There is no higher level. Here our goal is supposed to win. Results oriented bottom line. Just not with the Twins. I've always liked Varland and hope he gets better. But he cannot be in a major league rotation at this point.
  16. Glad they won. These past two games with Detroit have produced some bad baseball by both teams. Sunday I give the edge to the Tigers due to the starting pitching matchups. Then we get the 3-17 White Sox 7 of the next 10 games. Need to hopefully sweep them or at least go 5-2. After that the schedule toughens up some. We should be able to crush the White Sox. Could be interesting in that offensively speaking these are two of the poorest hitting teams in baseball. Go Twins!
  17. Not hustling is inexcusable! Way too many times I see twins hitters loafing on the bases especially on ground balls. Just jogging down the baseline. If you can't hustle on the bases for the three or four times each game you get up to bat you should not be playing. Rocco
  18. The excuses keep piling up. Bad luck? Crummy weather? Weak hits by opponents. Keep in mind the Twins were gifted 2 runs by Tigers mis-playing them. If Baldelli had any guts he would have benched Buxton after he stood at home plate watching his fly ball being mis- played then almost getting thrown out at home. Continually pinch hitting for Kiriloff because of him maybe having to face a left handed pitcher is getting old. Especially when you have a right handed stiff pinch hitting for him. Kiriloff is your best hitter in the lineup at the moment. Analytics are ok but if your players can't perform then you need to manage the game. Plus we keep getting told it's early. We will be fine like last year. I'm not buying it. But I will say this. We are in the beginning of a time where we will play the White Sox 7 times in 10 days. Yes the lowly 3-16 Sox. They should win most if not all of those games. Then they will proclaim how great they are playing. If they are still playing poorly at the end of that stretch then it's time to dump Baldelli and the coaching staff.
  19. Another great article. The injuries have been tough for sure. But the Twins brought a lot of this on themselves with a non competitive off season. Last year they had the pitching and enough offense to carry them through. I'm not convinced they can do it again this year.
  20. Great article. Baldelli and the Front Office are too stubborn and set in their process over results policy to actually admit they may be wrong.
  21. The biggest frustration for me is that most of the time so far the Twins are not competitive. Also some of the young players we have been hearing how great they are a not performing at all. The team wasn't doing well at all in spring training and continued that poor play. Very poor start to season. Very boring baseball again. But we are in the central division. So even though we have a very bad start there still is hope. I imagine the fans in Cleveland and Kansas City are happy with their start. Even the Tigers. I wonder if they believe games in April don't matter. I think the extra competition can only help the Twins in the long run. That is of course if the Twins are serious about being competitive.
  22. So you can't find fault with ownership and payroll and Falvey. The comment it's not Pohlads fault about allocating payroll dollars within. That it's Falveys fault. Well the Pohlads hired him. I don't think they care who gets what as long as the numbers work out. They have the great benefit of blaming the rotten season on injuries. Well we have Detroit,Chicago White Sox twice an Angel's coming up on the schedule. If they don't make hay then it's all over. What will probably happen is we will beat up on the white Sox and declare everything is good.
  23. So now it's the fans fault for the payroll reduction? Come on that's crazy. That's like blaming the Pohlads for being rich. Yes payroll was reduced to allow for a reduction of tv revenues, or so they say. After the Twins were offered to resign with Bally sports for 85% of previous deal they took it. Estimates were the reduced amounts were at around 46 million. Was that restored money put back into payroll? No. Also with increased concession prices and ticket prices this year the team went from being the second or third cheapest to go to the ball park to 19 overall. Baseball used to be affordable. Its not anymore. The Twins play lethargic baseball because IMO they have a lethargic ownership group and a management team hired to cater to that group. In retrospect it sure wasn't very smart to pay Correa, Buxton and Vazquez all that money if you want to keep a cheap payroll. Very foolish indeed to pay 3 guys nearly 50% of your payroll and left with such glaring holes.
  24. Twins were outed in this series. They were out pitched, out hit, out homered, out hustled, out played, and out managed. Other than that they were great.
