I questioned this as well, but there was a chain of Best Westerns name the Ramkota that all looked the same in the Dakotas and they all had grand ballrooms where there were chandeliers.  It is possible that the story checks out.

On Getaway Day, Buxton has the day off, and facing a righty I imagine the decision is pretty straightforward for the manager.  We can all lament that the Out man is even on the roster, but given that he is, to not play him would amount to insubordination by the manager to his GM.
