In MLB, the magic number is 5. Score 5 runs, you win more than you lose.

The Twins have scored 5 or more runs 4 times in September, not counting today's first game.

Four.

Twins are done.   Looks like they don’t want to play in playoff games.

FO and coaching staff need to be replaced after this season.   Go get Joe Girardi for our new manager.

Better to find out Headrick ain't the answer in a 1-7 game than a 1-1 one.

As much getting him game time so he can work on stuff. But yeah, that doesn't change things 'cause that still is better when the game isn't on the line so much.

But the game would be 1-1 without Casas.

And in that vein, i stopped caring about Headricks yielding a home run.

Pulling your best players out of a game when it’s only 8-1 after the sixth inning. Especially given where we are in the season and who we are playing. Only justification is I assume Buxton and Correa will be in the lineup for Game 2.

Trigger warning: I have never seen a manager signal ‘Quit’ to his team like this manager does.

Like Dan Gladden said recently, I think during the game Rocco pulled his starters out of the game they lost to the Reds, that Gladden never knew of a single player at any time who ever thought they were out of a baseball game in the middle innings, regardless the score.

Rocco gives up when we are down by 4.

Way to show up, Rocco

If there was "one hesitation step"  Does that not imply a lack of aggressiveness?  It was a tough play. I thought he took a bad angle as it wasn't hit real hard.  It's a moot point. Casas is a one man wrecking crew today.

The hesitation step was 5 strides into the play and pretty obvious.  Looked to me like he thought he could play it behind the bag and just mis read it a tiny bit.

It was absolutely not a laziness miss.

Game 1 goes final with Tigers up 4-3 and Royals down 2-0:

Twins have wildcard at end of today 64.4%
Twins have 5 seed at end of today 35.1%

Seattle up 4-0 also. Nobody pities us except us

Probably the only two teams tanking harder than us are the two teams ahead of us in the wildcard hunt, the Orioles and the Royals.

One coaching staff has their team well prepared to play and they are exceeding expectations. The other one is not prepared and did not look all that interested in playing today. The Vikings are playing for Kevin and it shows. The Twins are not playing for Rocco and it shows. Most important game of the year and they lay an egg. His voice has become stale and it shows.

Better show up for the second game.

Willi and Wallner choking in the top of the first set the table for game one. They handle adversity so poorly..

Royals just lost 6 in a row at HOME---  Hats off to the Tigers and now they go home and get Tampa- for 3  with Skubal pitching Tues, ,  and there reward for there streak , is White Sox for the final 3  All at home, , Baltimore seems locked into the 4 seed , how will that effect them , when they come here for the final 3 , even that could change and become a issue,  Twins for as bad as they and K.C. have both CHOKED big time still are in a good spot , -  If twins lose again to Boston  today, Myself i dont wanna see them make it, at some point you gotta Earn it, ,   Same batting order except Vasquez for that other catcher we have,  Seattle 5-5 top of 9  they win and they might also have a good chance ,   its exciting as a Fan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
