Ok, so I have finally this season come to terms with the fact that Christian Vazquez is going to play every other day. No matter how insane that is to type out. I've accepted it. Maybe since Jeffers has been ass for months that has helped with that.

But what I cannot accept or understand in any form is why does Vazquez have as much immunity to being pinch hit for than Royce and Correa?

I'm not kidding. We literally never pinch hit for the guy. There was a game this year when his OPS was .430 and bases were loaded in the 9th and we let him hit.

This is rhetorical btw

They can pitch back to back days but there's a lot of data proving relievers are much less effective on consecutive days.

PItchers are also less effective when they have an ass load of time off. They have to pitch eventually

They cant just sit around and hope we play a game where we are leading by 1-3 in the 7th. That strategy hasn't worked for a week now.

Miami has more than 87000 sq miles??

I'm skeptical.

They claim the international waters between Key Largo and Havana too.

Maybe they're counting the Atlantic ocean

I thought we were talking about population 😂

Seems like we struggled last year against Manaea too.

That was the game when they brought him in after an opener and we pulled lefties like Julien without even taking an AB

Manea causes our team from top to bottom to lose all brain functionality.

Dude has three stolen bases this year. You really want to take that threat off the base paths!?!?

Understand when a guy or two slums. But when it’s the whole team for two days in a row, is that just the Mets having a better plan and us not adjusting?

Our team seems to all slump or be hot at once.

Ha sadly, they do

Cause last week vs Philly we let him hit(per usual) and he drew a rare lead off walk. Then we promptly had Buxton run for him

So logistically we essentially chose Vazquez bat over Buxtons in a tie game...

Great AB* by Lee

He's been getting a lot of 2-2 and 3-2 counts lately. But in his slump its usually resulted in a weak out or swinging at ball for a K

Heck of a walk.

The nerve

Except Miami to Havana is about the distance of Minneapolis to Moorhead, so I kind of dropped the ball on that joke.

Actually it's not the team loses brain functionality.... it's Baldelli!

If I had a nickel for every time Byron chased a slider outside for strike 3. I’d have a couple nickels

If you aren't trying to win, why not deal Kepler? I mean, pick a lane.

He's reverted to his norms for sure.

And teams seemed to be way overpaying for veteran players this year.

“The Twins 2,3, and 4 hitters have not even put the ball in play in this game” say the Mets radio announcers, even before Buck strikes out.  Embarrassing for me to go into work this week here in NYC.
