I have to admit.  I was kind of hoping Blackmon would homer there to make it worse for Rocco.

I don't understand the Rocco hate.

He's playing with the cards he has. "Hiding" Thielbar and other 'low-leverage' guys means they get to stay on the team for a bit longer.

Rocco is telling Falvine: "this guy sucks" and he's going to keep rolling him out there until a decision gets made to cut him.

He did the same thing with Margot, who seems to have somehow played himself back into relevancy.

This isn't on Rocco. This is about a bad front office who is cobbling together a team with bubble gum and duct tape. Rocco's advocating for change by playing these awful players to force management's hand.

SURE PINCH HIT FOR MARGOT.

He was having a decent day and then Kepler strikes out.  Thinking the data analytics used by Rocco are flawed.

There are no "low-leverage" relievers.

I don't know how many times this needs to be said.

Multi vitamin. Once a day

Ummmm....150% agree that the front office is culpable here. But, so is Rocco. There is not another manager in baseball that would have pitched Thielbar today.

He pulled the starter, who was cruising,  at 63 pitches yesterday

Really! So Rocco running Thielbar out there is just a big F U

Do-Hyoung Park posted it on Twitter. Rocco's MO as manager has been to get relief pitchers back on the mound as soon as possible so they can get the bad taste out of their mouths.

Okay, fine, I get it - in theory.

But sometimes as a manager, you have to read the room and you can't be so rigid and operate according to some pre-determined mandate.

Thielbar's comments after the game last night sounded like a guy that was shot both physically and mentally. So, sure, Rocco's instinct is to throw him back out there ASAP and see if he can rebound. But, again, read the room. He wasn't ready to pitch again so soon and who knows if or when he'll be ready to pitch again.

Nearly squandering a 7-run lead, when every game is important, all in the name of sticking to the script is managerial malpractice.

There's zero excusing or defending the decision. It was horrible.

Good broadcast team on KOA, Denver.

Got a lot of KOA in my youth in western North Dakota. 50k blowtorch active at night. It was during the Jon-Benet Ramsey era. Lots of content around Rockies baseball. It's a good station.

And just like that, all is well.

No. No it's not.

Chances of winning this game have certainly improved.

Rocco still managed to somehow need Johann Duran in the 8th inning of a game he led 10-3 and burned through his entire bullpen in the course of less than 2 games.

In the immortal words of Rob Fornasiere, "successful teams can hit the ball the other way in crunch time situations".  3 straight opposite field hits from CC, RL, and JM... then Buxton tries to pull an outside fastball on the first pitch. I want him to start smashing the ball to right center soooooo bad, He is out front of everything.
