It has to be getting old with the players. Whether it's the platoon nonsense or pulling pitchers too soon. Give them a chance.

From the looks on TV, Baldelli and Richardson talked about it before the decision was made.

SWR's velocity was down and he wasn't missing any bats. Pregame analytics had that info?

It's getting hard to watch even if they are winning. How does he ever expect his left handed hitters to hit left handed pitching if they are never given a chance to. Rocco and his computer and all of his stupid analysts need to hit the road and go work on Wall Street.

Yup. Guys aren't given a chance. Not suggesting that SWR come out for the 6th but give the kid a chance to finish the inning and get the W.

Mostly every pitcher’s velocity is going to decrease when the game goes on. That can’t always be a reason to take a guy out in the 5th inning. Plus it’s about 125 degrees in Dc. Most guys aren’t going to be throwing harder as the game wears on.

Huh.....two weak flyouts before he was pulled....including the first out where he just challenged the dude on a 3-1 fastball and beat him.  Such a lame-ass Rocco move.

He had one inning with two guys on base and got out with no problem. Other than that, nada. I don’t know man. Gotta learn at some point. Wins and losses may not matter to most, but I got to believe pitchers care. One out away? Weak.

Maybe, but still doesn't explain the logic of your comment about analytics. I just don't think it made sense and don't agree that Baldelli didn't decide to remove SWR in the moment. I don't agree with many moves Baldelli makes, but the spreadsheet and analytics comments are ridiculous. The guy is a baseball lifer with a highschool education not an ivy League nerd. Rock Baldelli is not qualified for a job on Wall St as suggested.

His velocity was down all game.

That sounds like a good reason for today's game
