I don't think Twins' fans know just how lucky we are to have this guy at short-stop for hopefully he next 7-8 years. Plouffe has touched on it the last two games - he's nearly flawless in the field and not just highlight reel stuff, either. Fundamentals are text book. Bat's going to round into form soon enough. Then you throw in the leadership and intangibles. For all the grief that the front office takes, and some of it (a lot of it?) justified, but signing Correa remains one of the best things to happen to this franchise.

I think he has a chance to be the greatest defensive SS of all time. Honus Wagner is tough to beat as the greatest offensive SS.

Best player on the club.

Hopefully he is realizing and accepting that he is the leader of this club. He said this was Buxton’s club when he signed…which was the right thing to say.

But it clearly isn’t anymore (if it ever really was).

On the all time list Simmons is number 6, Ripken is number 2 and Smith is number 1; Correa is a top line SS but not in their league.

Correa certainly realizes he is the leader on the field; I think the problem was that he thought he could act as general manager, as well.  I don’t mean this to be snarky, as I agree with what was said here…
