But again, they scored three runs. There were chances to extend the lead a little bit. Pitching will keep them in games but games like today will happen when you have an anemic offense.

Long term, if you have Funderburk and Okert, there is zero reason to have Thielbar on the roster. I don't think he's going anywhere though and that's a mistake.

While this team is better on paper than the team in 2021, this season is bringing back unpleasant memories of a group that started slow and never got on track. The division figures to give the Twins every opportunity to get right but games like this one sting.

Given how volatile bullpens are and the injuries ours has sustained, taking until game 14 to leave a crooked number is pretty good.

Too early to say Thielbar is cooked, one HR and two groundball singles isn't that much of a sample size... but it's nice to have two capable lefties if he is, unlike the past couple years.
