Ponce DeLeon has some intrigue as a reliever.

And a single immediately after you typed that.

That would be your fault

But... I would also like to point out that your losing power. A couple of years ago... that comment would have produced a home run.

Well ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

But don’t even try to roller skate in a buffalo herd. It can’t be done.

One of those things leaves a bad taste in your mouth, often causes gastrointernal distress, and ultimately isn't good for you.

The other is made by Swansons.

Salisbury Steak was the best.

If it was on the menu in a restaurant... I would order it.

I never bluff.

Which is only one of the reasons I'm a terrible poker player.

One of the other reasons is that you show your cards to the other players and ask if the hand is any good.

In my four years at Willmar Junior College I used to get the "fried" chicken with mashed potatoes and corn, just for the little brownie.

To this day it's the best brownie I've ever had.

Simple pleasures are the best.

Listening once again to a Pablo Lopez interview, I am struck by what sounds like a concerted effort to speak with a "general American English" accent.  Occasional words like "pitch" give a clue he was born abroad - I don't know at what age he came here from Venezuela, but I presume it was when he went into pro ball, in which case he seems to have made this a priority.

His Wikipedia page says he was fluent in English, Italian and Portuguese at age 16, when he graduated from high school and was accepted into med school.

Absolutely

I think I stopped eating TV dinners when I got married.

Clearly that was a mistake.
