Game Thread: Twins (Ryan) @ Astros (Bielak), 5/30/23 @ 7:10 CT

Message added by cHawk,

This has been articulated before but I will do so again: game threads are not a "dumping ground." Those who use it as such will be blocked from posting in this thread.

Now let's have fun and enjoy some Twins baseball.

How has Lewis been running? Has he lost any speed?

He didn’t run that fast in his home run trot.

Not a 100% correlation, but he stole four bases in his 18-day rehab.

Not to be negative but they can DFA Kepler any time. He'll still get his money and some other team might be really into grounders to the second baseman.

If only our stars could step up in the late innings...we might have a chance.

While it shouldn't be, that's an awfully tall ask for this lineup.

Apparently bad home plate umping is only important if it involves the Dodgers or the Yankees.

Baseball Savant show's that the HP ump is getting worse, but equally for both teams. This does not make it right and fuels the fire for automated strike zones, but also goes to show the self-importance of today's umpires. When faced with their demise, they don't step their game up to present an argument for keeping human umps behind the plate, they just go full IDGAF and who cares which teams are affected.

Gleeman had a piece in the Athletic today showing the Twins are about neutral for and against with bad calls.
