The Twins missed their best opportunity to win last night in a wild game that went pretty deep into extras. I wouldn't know much about this game, as I went to bed because west coast games are brutal when you have small children.T

In Eastern time, west coast games are brutal, even if your kids are grown and gone.

It's much easier to catch if you don't bounce it.

Sure, if you hit the chest. The bounce takes variables away.

Thinking you can control the bounce on a grass and dirt baseball field? No words.

No words is probably the way to go.

That grass is smoother than my carpet. Get used to it, you have 6 plus years to watch him do it on purpose. You will grow to appreciate it later.

Plouffe said the ball arrives at the same time. That kind of figures, because you don't have to put any air under it.

Punto said you get to first quicker with a head first slide......... hmmmm

6 innings! And he didn’t even die!

Finishing six for the 26th time by a Twins starter in this, our 43rd game. Plus a number of others where the starter entered the sixth.

Should the 2nd baseman bounce it? The 3rd baseman? Why don't they?

Article just lays out part of the argument, it's not faster unless you have arm strength to cut it loose on that line. Main reason is to control the hop on the catch.

It's a choice for other fielders. And you will often see them do it if they are off balance. Easier to throw hard and hit that target and give an easy hop rather than taking a chance on an air mail or in between hop.

Props to Ober for an outstanding game when the Twins needed it.

I came back on to say this but was distracted.
