Should the 2nd baseman bounce it? The 3rd baseman? Why don't they?

We can't talk math, but we can apply physics. And there's no way a bounced ball arrives faster than a rope. It may appear that way but as soon as it hits the ground it creates friction.

Shortest distance between two points, is a rope to first with a cannon arm. The throwing arm is already at chest height. Plus, the friction of the ball on the ground increases the drag. And the double bounce? More friction, and slower yet.

What about a bounced ball versus a loop or a lob of a through cause the infielder has a weak arm?  I can't really feel strong about either.

The same weak throwing the lob is the one bouncing it.

Correa has a cannon arm. That is his trade mark, no? We are talking Correa, here, right? And he said in an interview he is bouncing it on purpose because it gets there faster....... which it does not with the same strong throw.

How do you swing after 5 straight balls? Foolish

Maybe deep down he felt guilty for the umpiring?

Taylor is getting some slow reads on the fly ball lately. He almost bobbled that last one too as he opened his glove.

Correct, I'm not making that case in any way. I am saying that picking the bounce as the target allows them to throw harder as they have a margin. It could be faster that way but usually not. Main reason is that it is easier to catch on the first base side. They practice this. Correa just happens to like it and do it quite often.
