USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Huh. Miranda swung through strike 3 at his helmet level. Weird.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Miranda high FB sucker is really old
TwinsDr2021 Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Shouldn't Giloito be tired? I mean he threw 23 pitches in the 6th?

Rocco knew all along Gordon would just pop out if he got a chance. The sad truth is that right now it might not make any difference how Rocco fills out the lineup card.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 ??? how would you now have confidence in Gallo and Gordon against Giolitto, But not Pregame , Rocco pleez tell me !
TwinsDr2021 Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Going on the record, I like Lopez coming out for the 7th, regardless of he outcome of the inning.

Heh. True enough. My counter would be when you're struggling to score, who is in the lineup matters most.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 One bad walk, but hard to argue Lopez didn't pitch well enough today.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Pablo, 7 innings 2 runs, you more than did your Job,
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 5 minutes ago, Parfigliano said: Funny because true or sad because true? Just cracking wise. Honestly, Rocco has shown a small tendency to go against the platoon approach against some right-handers that feature their off-speed stuff (Giolito has killed us with his change-up a few times...instead, favoring the right-handed bat to face the right-handed pitcher. Did it against Greinke, and it worked. But, Giolito is just far better than Greinke at this point.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Yep, if this remains the standard for an "ok" start among the top 3 in the rotation...I still maintain the Twins will win 90 games...despite the recent results that suggest otherwise.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Thanks Byron. Now all we need is 4 shutout innings from our bullpen to win this thing. ('Cause we ain't scoring in the 9th and won't score in the top of the 10th if we get that far. I think this offense will manage to push the ghost runner home in the 11th.)
Robert Floren Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Maybe Buxton will come up again in 10th or 11th and win it for us. Helll of a ballplayer.

Their defense hasn't been awful...probably 'not very good' or 'not an overall asset' is a more fair way of putting it. Moncada helps there, as well. Fielding Bible has the White Sox 26th of 30 teams--minus 9 runs. The Twins were 0 runs saved, tied for 17th.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Billy Hamilton pinch running. As expected.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Continually walking leadoff man in late innings is an interesting strategy
