RALLY CAPS!

Gratuitous use of poor formatting practices in the hopes that it will allow that 1 in a million chance to come through.

I checked the standings earlier today, and our elimination number for the wild card is 1. But i also vaguely recall we had tie breakers for the wild card folk ahead of us, So maybe westill have a chance?

Do we get in if we win out and either Seattle or Tampa Bay lose out? And the other teams ahead of us lose just enough?

I am too lazy  to look.

So i will keep left justifying this intro to show i still have hope.

I have it on good authority 1 in a million chances come up 9 times out of 10. The trick is they have to be exactly  1  in a million.

I also like to explore L-space whenever i get the chance.

But i don't have the heart of gold, nor know where my towel is...

But more importantly, let's get this over with!

Play ball,

White Sox:

0. Lance Lynn (R) P

1. Elvis Andrus (R) SS

2. Yoan Moncada (S) 3B

3. Jose Abreu (R) 1B

4. Eloy Jimenez (R) DH

5. Gavin Sheets (L) RF

6. AJ Pollock (R) CF

7. Andrew Vaughn (R) LF

8. Yasmani Grandal (S) C

9. Josh Harrison (R) 2B

Twins:

1. Luis Arraez (L) 1B

2. Carlos Correa (R) SS

3. Nick Gordon (L) 2B

4. Jose Miranda (R) DH

5. Gio Urshela (R) 3B

6. Jake Cave (L) LF

7. Gary Sanchez (R) C

8. Matt Wallner (L) RF

9. Mark Contreras (L) CF

Big crowd here tonight

Well, when you have a special ticket package that includes poor-to-average quality headwear it's going to attract a lot of people.

Arraez is in a tie right now for the batting title lead ?

I just saw that your Twitter handle is raymondwilfong. When I've seen the "rwilfong...", I just assumed it was a reference to Rob. I was always a big fan of him over Bobby Randall.

Ober continues to hold his 4.93 xERA at bay with everything but a whip and a chair to protect his 3.71 ERA.

Nope but you have a good eye! He's actually a distant relative though.

Glad to see the Twins putting together some offense, especially against Lance Lynn.

Lynn owns a very respectable career 3.52 ERA and 122 wins.    But for Twins fans, he's pretty much the guy at your work who everyone else likes but you'll always think of as the a-hole who threw up on your pants at the Christmas party.

Ober with 54 pitches, 43 (!) for strikes, 5 scoreless innings on 1 hit and 7 K's.

Somewhere in a parallel universe... a sane one... that line would add up to a better-than average chance of completing 7 or more innings.

Seeing Ober about to close out the 6th with a chance to go 7 is the 2022 Twins' version of taking a no-hitter into the 8th.

Congratulations to Wallner.  The hang time was enormous!

At the end of his call, it was almost like Bremer lost interest for a second while he went silent as he tried to figure out if it was gone or not.

I’m a glutton for punishment, so I’ve just started watching my recording from the beginning after getting home from a work Webinar. Sox broadcast just listed the Twins as having 1997 days of IL activity so far this year. Though 153 games, that’s an average of more than 13 players per game. Yowza.

I don't think rocco lets Ober even try for nine innings.  He may want another start before season is over and it looks like c.s to the other pitchers.

I just tuned in. Are we really on the first page of the game thread? Really? Wow.

I have tomorrow's intro and I guess it's worth putting in the effort, but golly,

Yes, I kept thinking my Internet was slow or something.  I’ve lost interest in the season, too, but since I’m going to see my White Sox fan friend tomorrow, I thought I’d at least listen to the audio.  I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, the weather here is fair weather, while the big weather action is on the eastern seaboard.

Why is the eastern sea a board, but the western never is?

Jeez, PDX.  You want us to start thinking this late at night?
