RickOShea Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Does anyone think correia will be back next year. I think this last month has soured him on a return.

rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I love that Francona has let Bieber pitch late into this game. Something Rocco needs to take note of.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 This Cleveland fan won't let this homer ball go easy. Be interesting to know what is being offered.
RpR Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Miracless do happen but if the Twins lose here, the fat lady is warming up. I wonder if Arraez is hurting more than shows, or he is just trying too hard.

RpR Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Season is not over and I will still watch/follow games to the end but with two errors in this game, the rookies are not getting taught baseball basics it would seem.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 What an INCREDIBLY poor game from the Twins. They played like it didn't matter anymore, right from the beginning. I suspect the 2nd game will go the same way. the coffin has been nailed shut. I don't care about the math. When you have 9 games left against the team you are chasing and you lose the first 5, its pretty clear domination. Does anyone think they will see any of the injured players for this series? And now, does it even matter?

Goal now is to finish .500 and give some of these kids some playing time.
CRF Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 There's no way of sugar-coating it...we're a below average baseball team. The smoke and mirror show was nice for a little while, but the truth emerged. In my opinion, there's plenty of blame to go around, with the FO and manager at the top of the list. Watching Tito and the way he handles his ball club make me extremely envious...why can't we get a guy like that? The injuries were a killer, and the lack of overall depth was too much to overcome. Throwing AAA and AA kids out there usually doesn't cut it. Miranda was a God send though. He more than held his own. I'm not even going to go into the pitching staff...or lack of one. We just don't have the ammo to fight this war. This was an easy division to win and we couldn't pull it off. Hopefully, all these kids that got a taste of the majors this year, will blossom and get us over the hump. There's always next year! Ya gotta believe!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 The Twins shall rise again. Eventually.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I hope we don't package away some of our young talent for, past their prime players or pitchers, during this coming off season. If we don't commit to a top of the line starter and a mid-reliever we're sunk, If present management stays, the mid relievers are even more of a premium.

HokieRif Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 This has been a slow death since the all-star game, arguably even before then. Very unfortunate with the injuries this season and it didn't feel like we were ever healthy and at full strength at any point this season. The pitching was a massive disappointment - no way to sugar coat that. Very few bright spots this season outside of Arraez continuing to do what he does, and the arrival of Miranda. Outside of those two the hitting has been atrocious. Some have called it AAAA players... we have a lot of starters that would be a utility player or 4th outfielder on most clubs. Correa hasn't played to his salary whatsoever and I really hope he can find a home elsewhere to save us some cash, or maybe we can trick some club into a trade and pickup something... anything to restock the farm. Rant over, and so is the season.
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Well, now it's all about Luis getting a batting title, and some young guys getting a chance to prove they belong. This season should leave a very bad taste in everyone's mouth, hopefully a bunch of them come back in 2023 full of piss and vinegar, ready to do battle.

Let's hope the bad taste in their mouth is not piss and vinegar! But yes let's see a stronger 2023 team! Maybe they can learn some more fundamentals like base running, maybe situational hitting in spring training!
