wxman91 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This game obviously isn't going to happen tonight. Any chance they play two with temps in the 30s tomorrow? Or even one?
twinsfan214 Provisional Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Aaaah! I have tickets for tomorrow's game. Please play!
striker_86 Provisional Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Assuming tonights game is cancelled and they only play 1 tomorrow. Who pitches on Thursday/Friday? Correia will pitch tomorrow. Then do you just go right back to Worley and Diamond to keep them on track since they are pitching well?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 I wonder what the long term problems of full time interleague play will be under the new schedule. If the Twins miss a White Sox game, no big deal. They play 19 times. Even making a game up against the Angels isn't a huge deal, as the teams often play multiple series against each other (though not always at each home park). But making up games against the Mets and Marlins is much harder and the more interleague teams play each other in April, the more likely it is they'll have scheduling problems.
Gernzy Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 No big suprise, game postponded until tomorrow. Game that was scheduled for 12:10 will now start at 1:10 and the make-up game will be at 7:10.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Monday night's game between the Twins and Marlins has been postponed due to a Minnesota snowstorm. Kevin Correia was scheduled to start for the Twins and Ricky Nolasco was supposed to be on the bump for the Marlins. The two teams are going to try to fit in a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday at Target Field, but the forecast currently calls for more wintry weather. Related: Ricky Nolasco
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This sucks, again... and again.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I had tickets for today, so we'll see you tomorrow night. The forecast shows mid-upper 60's by the weekend, so maybe this is about over. Maybe.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Am I the only one that finds it odd that they moved BACK the start of tomorrow's game? You'd think they would want to get in both games as quickly as possible during the day. PS. This weather is awful. Just awful.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 It snowed in Sioux Falls again today.
Benchwarmerjim Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Am I the only one that finds it odd that they moved BACK the start of tomorrow's game? they probably need time to clear off some seating sections. Is MLB scaling back Interleague play? This is only a 2 game series. Also, I wonder what game FSN is going to carry? the tv schedule says they were to carry the one tonight and no tv for the Tuesday noon game.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 It snowed in Sioux Falls again today. Well, don't send it my way! I had the top down on my Mini today in Chicago.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 The forecast I have read says cold but no precipitation tomorrow. High in the lower forties. It won't be great, but the Twins should get the games in. They may have moved the start back because it won't be a "getaway game" for the Marlins, just a guess.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 It snowed in Sioux Falls again today. Whether sucks here too. Already into the 90's in Tucson. Uffda.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Whether sucks here too. Already into the 90's in Tucson. Uffda. 90 degree ain't that good either. Of course it's a dry heat so you can't feel your skin melt. Glunn has that constant 70 degrees that is hard to beat if you overlook the earthquakes and wild fires.
SydneyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 It's a very pleasant 80 degrees today in Sydney by the way, but I'll be in the US next week so if you could lose the snow it would be much appreciated.

I think that next season the Twins should play their April games in Beverly Hills.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I wonder what the long term problems of full time interleague play will be under the new schedule. It seems as though there are scheduling problems fairly often towards the end of the year due to make up games... I kind of wonder if they shouldn't pad the schedule by a few days and add a few off days during Aug/Sept for that purpose.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Lineups posted. Yikes, the Marlins are awful.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Brian Duensing is currently dealing with flu-like symptoms. Duensing is scheduled to have an IV this afternoon, so his status isn't yet known. He wouldn't have been available if Monday's game was played.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Considering the past two seasons, you just have to love that at the end of the day today, the Twins have a decent chance of being at the top of the central division. (with two wins, and a KC loss to Detroit)
