Corriea through 7, 5 hits, 1 BB, 5 K's, 2 ER. Not too shabby, KC. Pitch count under 90. The only way Gardy takes him out in the 8th is if the Twins bat around and he freezes stiff on the bench.

Good point' date=' and an off day tomorrow. Still, I'd like to see him go nine.[/quote']

Yeah, I would too...as would Bert.

I originally thought the same thing, but we've only played like 4 games in the last 10 days.

Is it healthy/wise for a reliever to pitch/warm-up in both games of a split doubleheader? I honestly don't know, but they may want to avoid the bullpen just for that.

Alright, let's get some runs. Judging from the dugout response, looks like Corriea might be done.

aaaaaaand I'm wrong- Bert says they are taking him out. Dick says the pen needs work.

Did I mention I'm happy with Dozier???

Who knows. Pitchers sure seem fragile in this era.

Dozier's looking good.

And it isn't just his hair.

I have to question this - you have a starter tonight (Pelfrey) who has only pitched 12+ innings over 3 starts - you might need the bullpen, a lot of it, tonight.

Yes, but I wouldn't want to paint him.

Where's the sunshine Ashbury?

Whoa!!! My bad. KC seems to be doing all right without it, but one mustn't tempt fate and assume things will continue well.

Ruh-roh. Go ahead run at the plate.

Ruh-roh. Go ahead run on first base.

Lesson to be learned: If your starter is pitching effectively and has a low pitch count, you leave him in - you don't pull him just so the bullpen can get some innings.
