I believe it's only the Navajo Reservation in northeast AZ that switches to DST. The Navajo Reservation covers territory across three states, so to avoid confusion, they use DST across the entire Reservation.

Interestingly, the Hopi Reservation--entirely within the Navajo Reservation--stays on standard time like the rest of AZ.

This creates a "DST donut" in NE AZ.

If anyone cares.

Thanks, I finally figured out what the soundtrack of my afternoon will be!

Merrill Kelly will certainly be moved at the deadline, and he's had a pretty good year. He can't be the best pitcher you acquire, but he would fit nicely in the Kyle Gibson/Hendricks article that was posted here the other day.

Sigh. Pulling Archer was the right move with the fully rested bullpen, but Jax giving up a tater was not. Surprised we didn't get Thielbar there against 2 lefties.

Happy Father's Day to the TD Dads!

Fire up that grill! I decided on chicken because we are gonna win this ballgame. Listening on the radio while sweating on the back porch. The temperature difference between Minneapolis and Arizona can't be more than a few degrees. After 95 degrees does it even matter?

One has a dry heat, the other doesn't. :)

Jax is emerging as a real solid pitcher, but I'm not sure why Archer couldn't go another 20 pitches or so. I mean eventually Archer, who has actually pitched quite well on a consistent basis, could go 100 pitches it seems.

Dick talking about the roster limitation of 13 pitchers. What's to prevent a team from listing a pitcher as an outfielder? Kind of evens things out with the Angels being allowed to count Ohtani as a DH.

They have rules about who can pitch and who can be labeled as a 2 way player. You have to label a pitcher as a pitcher or they aren't allowed to pitch in any game that is within 5 runs. Position players are only allowed to pitch in games when a team is leading by at least 6, if the game is in extra innings, or the player is designated as a two-way player. A player can only be designated as a two-way player if they have thrown at least 20 major league innings and plays at least 20 games as a position player or DH, and has at least 3 plate appearances in each of those games.

Was Archer hurt? He only pitched 60 pitches

No, our manager just likes to overmanage when the computer tells him to

Where is yesterday's team. Pathetic

Yesterday's lineup minus Buxton which was a bad lineup according to some vs today's lineup with him. Sometimes you run into a pitcher whose stuff is working. And this guy has looked pretty good so far.

I will still maintain that pulling Archer after 4 was the right move. He didn't have great command and had already given up two homers, plus 3 lefties were due up, and the top arms in the bullpen are all fully rested. However, where the mistake was made was bringing in a righty who primarily throws sliders against 3 lefties when Caleb Thielbar is rested (and now coming in the following inning).

I think so, but in previous seasons. So caution is the word of the day for him. (i think a duck comes down from the ceiling with a plackard if you say it)

I believe with having had an off day Thursday, only Thornburg and Duffey throwing Friday, Bundy having gone 8 yesterday, and the off day tomorrow they wanted to get the pen arms an inning each to keep them fresh since most of them hadn't thrown in quite a while.

Perdomo is a switch hitter. And Thielbar is scheduled to face the 2-4 hitters here which go lefty, lefty to start. The bigger problem is the lack of any other lefties in the pen. But saving your 1 lefty for their best lefties is pretty reasonable.

He only had trouble against Walker (he should have pitched around him, here again better pitch calling & set ups) , with 18 HRs a lot of pitchers did. He had just finished pitching to him, so shouldn't have any trouble pitching the 5th.
