This is why they traded for Paddack.....they have ONE guy in AAA left at this point.

Jax can always start. They have Strotman. Sands is back. Balazovic may not be ready, but he is a starter. Ronny Henriquez is also a starter on the 40-man. Any could be good for a spot start (like for that double-header coming up). Still have Moran to come into the bullpen at some point.

They are not good options but they are options.  The depth is being tested, at least for Joe it will likely only be a single start that will be affected.  If we have another injury in the near term then it begins to get difficult.

How close might Balazovic be to getting a look?  They've been aggressive promoting guys.

Having just gotten covid, if he has my symptoms he is not going to get rest.  Good luck Joe, I hope it is a case of not symptoms.

Smeltzer has pitched well, and they're playing the Royals so hopefully it won't be too bad of a situation.
