Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Larnach has been very impressive this game

DPs are often pretty close and a poor transfer will cost the out. I agree with this. I think the shift has been a bigger change to the pivot. 2B are often not in a position to make the turn anymore.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Two straight good at-bats from Larnach.

The new freshman at Harvard approached another student and asked, "Where is the library at?" The other student said, "This is Harvard. We don't end sentences with prepositions here." So the freshman said, "All right. Where is the library at, *******?"

I do remember a thread last year in July or August where people were discussing who was the better prospect between Kirilloff and Larnach and a lot of people thought Larnach because he was getting on base more often. Larnach struggled mightily after that, but I still think he can be a really good corner outfielder.

When I asked that on a visit some years back, the student told me, "at Harvard one is expected to be able to read a map for oneself, and not bother one's betters by asking."
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Are they going to ask Winder to finish? This isn't a Dereck Rodriguez situation. I'd like to see him leave on a positive note.

That's assuming he can come back from the wrist injury and stay healthy.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Can't tell which is making me more ill; this team right now or the vat of cheese curds I just ate...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Romero to pitch the eighth and perhaps pitch his way to St. Paul.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Calling it a day. Timely hitting (or any hitting, really) isn't there today. Winder was really good, so I'll chose to be happy about that instead. I predicted a 3-1 series victory, with this one being the one I had as a loss, so my prediction is still in play. Need Ober to give us 5+ innings tomorrow. Until tomorrow fellas, Happy Easter

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Not a platinum glove play by the shortstop.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I checked out of this game in the third to watch the Wolves and see that absolutely nothing has happened since I stopped watching.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 How did Winder look? His stat line looks pretty good for someone called in to pitch extended relief.

Threw strikes, decent velocity and at least two of his pitches (fastball and slider) sure looked like major league pitches.

Everything you wanted to see. 1 mistake pitch.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Early season. In one game, Larnach's average goes from .000 to .333.
PatPfund Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Coming late to the thread after text/listening with a friend. Some bad news for sure, but Winder had a needed extended outing (and pretty good for his second MLB appearance against a very good lineup). Nice to see some life from Larnach (who could go a long way to fixing the corner OF issue is he can realize his potential). Tough to win when you don't score, though. (3rd hit from Larnach as I type.) Offense seems to be the limiter on this team (the pitching has been okay). Game over.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Cold bats continue to be an issue.
CRF Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Correa needs to get it going a little bit. He's as cold as ice right now.

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Sounds like Winder and Larnach were bright spots in an ugly outing. Let's hope that the rest of the team catches up and that Buxton heals fast.
