Winder has more swings and misses than Houck, who is considered one of the better young SP prospects (although I am not sure he qualifies as a prospect). And we all know how often the Twins lineup is capable of swinging and missing.

If this keeps up, I may have to switch to the stooges on MeTV at 5pm.

Houck was far from sharp today, and the Twins are going to fail to score a run off of him.

Is there an indication he won't come out for the sixth?

Plenty of time, anything can happen at Fenway

Yes, it can.  Fenway is such a joke for a ballpark.  I've seen bigger Little League parks here in Tucson.

Counting the strike out-throw out, that is three double plays for a total of four base runners.

That's quite the accomplishment.

How will you tell the difference?

I look forward to these two hours all week.

Talking about take-out slides at second base--they are missing a key point. Turning a double play is no longer a needed skill as a second baseman.

Go on....?

The AB's have been pretty underwhelming today. The Twins have actually been fine at working themselves into hitters counts, but then they do nothing when they get into that position. Instead, they swing at a pitchers pitch or a ball out of the zone.

Okay, Twins, let's get a few runs. I've got one pizza with barbecue pulled chicken and one with chicken bacon ranch headed to the oven that I'd like to show off with a win, and I'm not sure there's going to be leftovers if I wait until tomorrow.

Okay, it used to be that turning the double play was a huge part of a second baseman's job. The second sacker had to deal with guys coming at them from all angles and had to make different pivots depending on how the runners were coming in. Now, they can stand at the back of the bag and unhindered, throw the ball to first. I remember Carew, especially after his knee injury, being not great as a pivot man, and that may have hastened his move to first base. Bobby Randall, OTOH, didn't have great range, but he could make that pivot no matter who was bearing down on him.

Shifts also have minimized the importance of the pivot IMHO.

Winder has been great out of the pen. Of course you don't want to see the homer against Xander, but if he starts a game against the Red Sox and goes 4 innings with only 2 runs and 11 swings and misses, we would be encouraged

I think there's still considerable skill involved in the pivot, regardless of the baserunner.  DPs are often pretty close and a poor transfer will cost the out.
