Jax should he sitting down, thinking he had a pretty okay game against a good offense. Neither Rooker nor Arraez is a defender. At least one can hit, though.....I really want Martin or Celestino in left next year.....

Agree about Rooker and Arraez can't field, but not sure Celestino is overall that much to be looking forward to either.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Tragically ironic that the Twins signed Simmons to go with Donaldson and tighten up the defense of the left side. The Twins lead MLB in errors, with 88 now, and it isn't even close (Marlins next with 80 unless they have some today). Simmons has 12 of them, and Donaldson has 10 (Sano and Polanco with 13, and next highest is Arraez, with 7), and the two of them have committed 25% of the Twins MLB leading errors.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Berrios, Maeda, Pineda, Happ, Shoemaker, Dobnak, Ober were all in front of Jax and Barnes. If Winder is healthy, he is also. That makes those two around 8th or later on the depth chart to start the year. If the season goes as most expected, they likely deal for a starter at the deadline.....

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 If only Baldelli would manage to win in the earlier innings....... absolutely ridiculous to leave Jax in so long. We should be ahead in this game now.
RpR Verified Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Gordon increased his chance of staying in the Big Show.

RpR Verified Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Gordon almost reduced his good showing but Sano's long reach saved him.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 This has turned into an interesting game. A comeback win tonight would be memorable, and heal some of the pain from the Yankee series.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Lucky for Gordon, the twins might not be so quick to give up on a young guy after what happened with Lamonte Wade

Oriioles were assumed to be lousy; Twins were supposed to in the play-offs. Early on the Orioles had some good series; Twins have stunk since the first month.

glunn Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I think that this is a very good game, and we should focus on enjoying it. This could be a great victory that builds team confidence.

If it is a lost season, where is the pressure, eh? Jax kept throwing hanging curves with 2 strike counts. Over and over tonight. Just about all the scoring was on 2 strike hanging curves. Jax doesn't seem to be a quick learner. His ERA was over 5 with tons of homers given up. In the past you have called for pulling young pitchers (Jax had over 90 pitches before the last 3 run homer!) to not demoralize their fragile brains, and now you are supporting letting them get murdered for 9 runs in less than 5 innings? Hmmm. What do you think one is going to learn about Jax, who coming into the game had given up 11 homers in 44 innings.... now 14 in 48.2? Not much more. You learn he should be in AAA and is only here because you have nothing else. But you already know that. And if this game means nothing, kids... how can winning now be inspirational and meaningful to now win? It's because it doesn't mean nothing.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I don’t understand why we’re trying to steal bases with 0 outs and the top of the order up?
