The arm motion was definitely NOT sidearm as a standard third baseman would throw it.

Yeah, it’s actually easier to make that play than it looks

Yup.  Not an easy play, but not nearly as difficult as he made it look.

Hey Garn, grab a beverage and sit back.  This really becoming quite interesting.

Twins need to win 9 games to avoid losing 100, do they play Cleveland 9 times.

Well a starting third baseman in the majors usually makes it

Garn, I'm not talking about the Twins' game.  I'm talking about the Gillete women's shaver, 'for those private areas".

With this rotation, all bets are off.

Correct, but that doesn't make it an easy play.

I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said.

Seems like all the arms the twins acquired in July are going to have to pan out for the twins to be competitive going forward. Not brimming with confidence in the trio of Jax, Barnes and Ober

To be fair, none of those guys were billed as future rotation options... Jax and Barnes were barely top 50 prospects. Ober at least looks like a MLB arm but the other two are likely either going to be starting 2022 in AAA or will be DFA'd for their 40 man spot.

But that's not to say I'm not concerned about our pitching, because I absolutely am.

No , I know, all I mean is your momentum is going forward on that play and you can use it to your advantage if you know how to make that throw

Wish the FO felt the same.

What is the rotation next year, honestly? Scary thoughts

Did anyone tell Jax, that during his beginning time in the majors, he has to give back $50,000 every time he loses.

Right.  He made it look about as unnatural and uninstinctual as one probably could.  Almost like he was thinking about it instead of just reacting.

Well, they gave Shoemaker and Happ many chances over Jax and Barnes... at this point I'm fine seeing them flop rather them continue to pitch at AAA while awful veterans soak up the MLB innings.

Off the top of my head... 2 FAs (probably mid-tier), Ober, Maeda?, and then a couple veteran longshots. As for the prospects, Ryan, Winder, and Balazovic are the top guys who should be ready at some point/early in 2022 (I could see Duran and Strotman come up as relievers). If they aren't, the FO needs to be under serious pressure.

Just a reminder, when the Twins entered the 2020 offseason, only Berrios was under contract. Their moves: Qualifying offer to Odorizzi, 2/$20M to Pineda, trade Graterol for Maeda, 1/$7M to Homer Bailey, and 1/$3M to Rich Hill. I suspect they will make similar moves in 2022, minus trading a top pitching prospect for a veteran.

Why is Rooker not back at AAA?

He doesn't have anything to prove there. He needs to sink or swim at the MLB level... and he appears to be sinking.

Is Pineda back next year?
