But the "real" change needs to come on a grander scale and that's reducing pitcher advantage while encouraging batter contact. And that's going to be a complicated dance for MLB to peform.

Yes, it's a balancing act. I think the game would be better with fewer strikeouts, fewer bases on balls, and fewer home runs. To that end the solution is theoretically simple, but the devil is in the details. Lower the mound, yes, but by how much? Move the pitching rubber farther from home plate, yes, but by how much? Enlarge the strike zone, yes, but by how much? Soften the ball, yes, but by how much?

I don't think Larnarch is going to be better than Sano in the future. Sano at least has more power. I want Larnarch bat much lower in the order like 6th or 7th.

Oh, without a doubt, but small ball isn't going to come back, at least not the way we remember it because small ball is often pretty dumb from a run-scoring perspective.

It should be a mix of both in the future. White Sox can play both, that's why they have been successful.

The White Sox have the sixth-best slugging percentage in the American League. They're a very good offensive team.

At what point to you take some pressure off of Larnach by dropping him in the Order? I know its tough because Kepler and Sano are not hitting, but maybe move him down to 6, with Kirilloff 3, Polanco 5, or even 7 with Kepler 5 and Polanco 6. Might help him mentally.

Had a photoshoot today at work ... taking portraits for various reasons ... and I'm not the best subject. It's just uncomfortable to 'pose' on command, with flashes and whatnot. So, he says to me: "Stop blinking so much." My response, "Then quit flashing me." I started laughing when I heard it.

What did you do today?

I think maybe he might be destined for St. Paul?

I think a drop down in the order and a few more off days would make sense before demoting him.

I'm the same way and so is my mom. There are numerous pictures of both of us that have "smiles" that were obviously forced and the result was not good.

Garver two home runs after a time with the Saints; time to send Kiriloff and Larnarch down to learn what ever Garver did .

Agrred. Besides, we really don’t have anyone to replace him. He’s hitting better than Kepler and Cave wasn’t hitting before he went on the IL. The good news is with Garver back we can put his bat in the middle of the order and maybe move Larnach down.

lol ... I can imagine ...

I kept telling this photographer that I wanted a more 'serious' pose, not smily and on profile ... and he says 'Okay, now look at me, smile, no smile bigger'

The best smiling photo taken of me in my (long) life was the result of the first shot of the session when I thought the photographer was still setting up his camera. He made some offhand remark that let me smile naturally. Unfortunately that can never happen again because, you know, fool me once...

Fun fact: Simmons since the COVID outbreak: .213/.276/.284 (.556 OPS). He's turned into Pedro Florimon - great glove at SS, but is simply feeble at the plate. He's never been that good at hitting, but he's also never been this bad.

Not all that often does a guy spend over a month on the IL and come back with 2 straight long balls. Larnach is totally

lost at the plate right now. Kirilloff is playing with an injury so we aren't getting his best. When Cave, Garlick and Refsnyder come back it will be interesting to see who goes where....assuming none of them are traded.

Lets hope Berrios doesn't have one of his famous one inning meltdowns tonight. He has looked real good thru 5.
