MNT1996 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Hopefully Buxton didn't have a steak mid-game
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I just tuned in. Is Buxton injured? How? What?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Author Posted April 4, 2021 Rooker is pinch hitting for Buxton?!
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 worst challenge ever?3rd inning, no less.
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 worst challenge ever?It sure seemed conclusive from every angle.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 It sure seemed conclusive from every angle.conclusive seems like too weak a word.
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 conclusive seems like too weak a word.Indisputable?
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Man, it would be nice to have a challenge right now.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 worst challenge ever? I read this week that Rocco and Shelton have the two lowest career success rates on challenges among the 60 or so that have had at least 10 challenges in their career.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Some pretty poor managing of challenges.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I read this week that Rocco and Shelton have the two lowest career success rates on challenges among the 60 or so that have had at least 10 challenges in their career.Maybe they need to hire someone to do challenges.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 And wasting the challenge IMMEDIATELY comes back to bite Rocco in the ass. Although, a big league umpire shouldn't miss a call that easy.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 My guess is a migraine for Buxton, but who knows.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 OK ... Heading out to dismember the Easter Bunny and clutch it's bloody foot the rest of this game.
Giles Ferrell Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 worst challenge ever?Followed by a stolen base where you actually needed that challenge.
AmesFan Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 No TV coverage...What happened to Buck?
wavedog Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Horrible challenge costs them as they can’t challenge Polanco being obviously safe - unbelievable.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I read this week that Rocco and Shelton have the two lowest career success rates on challenges among the 60 or so that have had at least 10 challenges in their career. We need a reaction button other than 'like'. I mean, this is a good post, but I sure as $**#)@(@( don't "like" it.
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Something went wrong between Rocco and the video guy. That wasn't remotely close and was very obvious in real time. Sadly, Polanco safely stealing was also clear to all but one person. More worrisome ... Buxton.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Author Posted April 4, 2021 worst challenge ever? When i saw it live, i thought a tag was applied. Perhaps they were saying he missed the tag, not realizing his foot was on the bag. Wish they had been able to challange the next tag.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I just turned on the game while cleaning up from dinner and for a while it seemed like there was a rain delay and the broadcast crew was killing time by choosing a random, meaningless play to slow-mo and talk about for no reason.
AdoreAdorno Verified Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I give the front office and coaching staff a lot of credit but two things happened today: that challenge and Akil Badoo hitting the first pitch of his pro career for an oppo taco after destroying spring training pitching.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I just turned on the game while cleaning up from dinner and for a while it seemed like there was a rain delay and the broadcast crew had just chosen a random, meaningless play to slow-mo and talk about for no reason.Well let that be a lesson to ya. Get yer @@@ here on time in the future.
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 For anyone still defending the pitchers hitting instead of using the DH, today's two at bats present the case clearly. The money in the game today does not allow the pitchers to work on hitting at all, even to be remotely successful. There are a few exceptions, but very few and MLB has totally mismanaged this issue in their futile attempt to gain some negotiation position. If the pitchers would regularly work on their hitting skills and present themselves as remotely competent, I could accept them hitting. In the current iteration - no.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 No TV coverage...What happened to Buck?TV coverage. What happened to Buck?
